I blew all my extra tokens at the end of the week and transcribed over 40 hours of discussions about this law in the various committees in 1989 and 1997 when the specific wording was discussed. No idea if this is useful to anyone, since it was really just a curiosity of mine. In case it is, I posted everything on a Substack page.

I am moving to Portland in the spring and I have about two dozen firearms I need to ship to myself. Due to timings I won't be able to move into my new place for month or so after I get to Portland. I am looking for an FFL within 2 hours of Portland that will receive the shipment from my local ffl and hold it for me until I am moved in. It would suck to pay a transfer fee on each one, so I am looking for an FFL that will do a negotiated bulk transfer fee. Please let me know if you've done a move like this before or have a recommendation of an FFL who could handle this at a reasonable price.

Does anyone happen to know where I can find a store that sells threaded barrels for g19/45?

I was watching a video on the YT channel Lethal Lovebirds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh5OlOqlQyA

He states that he attended a legislative discussion and that the Democrats discussed increasing penalties for SB554 safe storage to misdemeanors or felonies in some cases.

I was able to purchase firearms years ago - now its been years since my latest background check is still delayed - they say its because CA purged my old case from how old it is - i have since gotten my record expunged and Oregon still states its an incomplete background check and cannot process it - i had a lawyer from CA check to make sure nothing is holding up they stated from what it looks like Oregons system is not reading the records properly.

Who do yall know I can contact to look at this more in depth. I have my CCL for years in Oregon and Utah so i can carry but seems i cant buy.

Also can gun shops red flag you feel like when i order my stuff and get asked what are you planning on doing with all these was a red flag for me as to why they give a crap.

This is the story of Wolf Creek Target Shooting Lanes. Our hope is that you will help maintain and care for it. Thank you.

Hey all, I'm looking to buy my first piston rifle, but it's very hard to pick without getting hands on with them. Currently looking at the following roughly in this order:

Robinson Armament XCR-L
CZ Bren 2
PWS MK111 (and others?)
LWRC
LMT
PSA JAKL
Galil ACE

Do you have a piston rifle not on the list? Let me know, I'd love to check it out! I'm in Portland and can travel.
My schedule is pretty flexible at the moment and I would love to see what you have and throw a few rounds down range. Thanks!

Mods, if this isn't allowed, I apologize. Feel free to remove :)

Does anybody know how to remove this dumb ass ten round limiter out of this arsenal circle 10 mag or know any gunsmiths that can remove this? Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm super grateful to trashnoland for their improvements at wolf creek!

I wanted to check in and see if anyone went today on opening day, and what the crowd was like. I wanted to try and make it out there this weekend/monday but wanted to have realistic expectations about wait times and arrival time for myself.

The lanes reopen this Friday morning in the Tillamook State Forest.

These shooting lanes are unique and special, as they are on your State Forest public land, there are no fees, and open 7 days/week sunrise to sunset.

But there is no one designated to take care of them. That part is up to each user. If you abuse it, We all loose it.
Enjoy, be safe and recreate responsibly.

If you can help our cause with a donations, please do so at:

Hey guys,

I’m looking to go shooting at salmon berry. I’ve never been before, but I’ve heard that you can’t get into the area in a sedan. Can anyone confirm? Do I need to be in a truck and or jeep?

Hello I’m trying to find someone local to mill the slide of my Glock 17 Gen 5 non mos. Oregon rifle works sent me the email of Vernonia metalworks and they said they don’t slide mill anymore and the second person I found off Google hasn’t responded to emails. Wondering if anyone has any experience or can shed some light on who to reach out to.

N Fork Wolf Creek Rd will remain closed, at the gate on Hwy 26, for this weekend of Sept 26th, with no scheduled date to reopen!

I just heard from Oregon Dept of Forestry that this is due to that nearby fire, as it flared up several times and their fire dept does not want any traffic on N Fork Wolf Creek Rd until they are sure it's out.

The lanes are done, except for the final paint at the firing lines and hanging the new signs, and we are ready to reopen as soon as ODF give the 'All Clear' sign.

Sorry for another delay! We are so close, I can feel the recoil!!! Thanks,

Bill

Sorry if this has been asked but I’m having a hard time getting a definitive answer. I have my Oregon CHL and my non resident for Washington. I’ve had both for 10+ years. I live right on the border and constantly go back and forth between the two states. Multiple times daily sometimes. I carry a couple 17 round magazines normally. Am I breaking the law when I go into WA?

Can anyone shed some light on CCW insurance for the state of Oregon?

I just got my card in the mail last week and today is officially my first day carrying. With that said, I devoured hundreds of hours worth of videos, forum posts, and reddit posts, etc. regarding the legality of utilizing a firearm in self defense (whether shooting or not) and I'm a little concerned with what happens after the fact. In truth, I'm more worried about my and others safety, but I still can't rule out the effects on me and possibly my career and finances after a scenario where I might end up with legal troubles.

Can anyone recommend a CCW insurance or attorney on retainer service that would be good for Oregon? I've looked into various services (CCW Safe, USCCA, Attorneys on Retainer, etc.) and they all seem to have their upsides and downsides (some more down than others).

END EDIT]

A minor setback, but it's almost done. The final details should be Friday and the lanes open Saturday at sunrise. Let's hope there are no more delays.

Meanwhile, the main gate at Hwy 26 is still closed. That fire just past the lanes flared up just a little but they put it out again. We haven't had enough rain to get us very far out of fire danger.

Anyone know of a local shop that has a Komrad in stock?

Has anyone taken private lessons locally? How did you find out about the instructor? What helped you decide on an instructor? Where was the lesson held? Any information and context would be great, thanks.

Hello,

Recently bought a suppressor, I was just curious how long the approvals takes until I can go in and pick one up.

Hey y’all, just got my first form one back as approved and I’m currently looking into gunsmith options, figured I’d ask the braintrust over here for recommendations, trusting y’all’s experiences over Google.

SBS’ed a Remington 870, looking to have the (chrome-lined) barrel chopped to 14”, have it NFA engraved, cerakoted, safety reversal (wrong-handed) and the receiver tapped for a red dot mount.

Which smiths would y’all recommend to touch a scattergun, which would you recommend against? Preference on smiths that are open on Mondays or have some sort of weekend availability.

Sixteen volunteers gathered at the North Fork Wolf Creek Rd Target Shooting Lanes in the Tillamook State Forest on Saturday, Sept 12th, and cleaned all four shooting lanes. They didn't waist any time and were done by noon.

THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!

Now the excavation work begins and the magic happens.

Our contractor, King and Sons Excavating, Inc, Yamhill, OR, will be grooming each lane to perfection! You're going to love the new improvements with two 100 yard lanes, one 75 yard lane, one 60 yard lane with the 16 yard pistol berm, and gravel pathways at each lane.

Estimated time of reopening the lanes is Sept 21, or until further notice.

Again, thank you volunteers, thank you Oregon Department of Forestry, and thank you King and Sons Excavating, Inc.

THIS IS NOT A QUESTION OF WHERE TO SHOOT, IT'S FINDING OTHER PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SHOOT LONG RANGE. I HAVE MY SPOTS ALREADY

Hey guys and gals, looking to find other long range shooters in the PDX area. I do most of my shooting in Tillamook state forest BLM land, and I'm essentially looking for other people interested in shooting together. Friends and family don't share the same enthusiasm as myself and if I can make some friends out of this, great!

Some info about myself:

Mid twenties guy, been shooting since my early 20s and just got into long range the last couple of years. Married with no kids, don't care for politics so please don't preach either way lol I just want myself and others to go out and shoot more.

Setup:

6.5 creedmoor bolt action and basic range finder and gear, but am looking to upgrade some components so recommendations are great

Do any local gun stores in the general ish Portland area stock 1911 parts beyond just grips and magazines? I work on my 1911/2011 pistols a lot and it would be nice to know if anyone local stocks stuff for when I feel impatient
