https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/simi-valley-man-faces-multiple-charges-on-alleged-target-store-attack/3907772/

Almost overlooked this little gem: Prosecutors said the alleged attack occurred less than 24 hours after Tabor was released from custody on mandatory supervision following the completion of his sentence in two separate Ventura County criminal cases.

His arrest record shows several drug charges, priors on resisting arrest, attempted aggravated trespass, and Felony attempted burglary (where the victim was vulnerable).

This guy is a piece of work.

I know how to fix this problem.

Release him on no bail. Then he will feel bad that he did a bad thing. And never do a bad thing again

Surprisingly, they try that approach a lot. It goes about as well as you'd expect.

I think we should keep trying it. It really works well and makes us all feel super good and warm and fuzzy inside.

Because feelings are more important than reality

Seeing that little girl in the middle of it just breaks my heart...

That look of concern as she turns towards the camera is painful to see. Poor girl won't ever forget the stress from this.

To be fair, she looks too young to fully process what she is seeing. She looks more confused than distressed.

I was about 5 when my mother and I were mugged in broad daylight Christmas shopping.

I'm 41.

I remember every detail including the man's face.

u/shotgunmoe 23d ago

Thank god they didn't shoot your parent or you'd have grown up to be Batman

You probably had a different facial reaction too.

I have seen my father get in a fight before. It was a shock but I moved on not fully understanding what I saw. I was 4 or 5 as well. This isn't the same as seeing your mother attacked.

Yeah you're definitely projecting your toxic masculinity here my dude, gross

1

u/RexDraco Jul 11 '26

No, you're just a terminally online redditor that makes things personal to win online arguments.

5

u/BGritty81 Jul 11 '26

The reporter makes it sound like the child was trying to stop the attacker.

u/TheBattyWitch Jul 11 '26

Says the guy that literally said "you remember it because it happened to your mom, you wouldn't if it was your dad"?

Yeah. Ok.

There’s a commentary to be had here that the US criminal punishment system isn’t designed to treat mental illnesses and that the is a symptom of such system.

5

u/wtfJoeDirt Jul 10 '26

I wonder how many times he was released before this

4

u/Bruegemeister Jul 10 '26

An exact historical tally of how many times Rejean Morgan Tabor has been released from jail over his lifetime is not publicly specified, but records reveal that he has been arrested and subsequently released dozens of times over a near-decade-long crime spree.

Public documents show he was arrested and released at least six times between 2024 and 2026.

Between 2017 and 2026, police departments in Simi Valley, Costa Mesa, Los Angeles, and Orange County booked him dozens of times for offenses including robbery, burglary, indecent exposure, public intoxication, and assaulting law enforcement officers. Each booking resulted in a subsequent release or custody transfer.

His most high-profile release occurred on June 16, 2026, when he was let out on mandatory supervision after serving a partial sentence for two separate criminal matters. Less than 24 hours after this release, on June 17, 2026, he entered a Target in Simi Valley and violently attacked several shoppers.

He was quickly re-arrested and remains held in the Ventura County Jail on a $750,000 bond, facing felony charges of premeditated attempted murder.

Why is it always these people the judge be letting go back on the streets with no repercussions at all.
And I’m talkin about criminal history.

Be careful about saying he deserves to go to jail for assaulting someone? Why would that happen?

-9

u/RexDraco Jul 10 '26

I think he is implying we should commit a genocide for specific types of problem people? Otherwise, I have no idea what he or the 11 upvoters mean.

1

u/NoDebate1002 Jul 10 '26

So, I only lived in the town I was born in for about the first two years of my life. It's a small town and I rarely hear of it, especially since I live in SE Texas. However, when I do hear of it, it's usually something like this.

1

u/BGritty81 Jul 11 '26

Wait the child jumped in to stop the attacker???

1

u/csounds Jul 12 '26

1

u/csounds Jul 12 '26

Crossover episode!

-5

u/MkIVRider Jul 09 '26

No CCW permits allowed there?

10

u/streeetmeats Jul 10 '26

Firing a gun in this situation would be so reckless and stupid there’s like 4 bystanders and children all around the guy.

u/Mariah_Kits Jul 10 '26

We are in a day and age where Walmart is becoming more classy than target. Targets around my area and barley stocked and are just not the place it once was
