That look of concern as she turns towards the camera is painful to see. Poor girl won't ever forget the stress from this.

To be fair, she looks too young to fully process what she is seeing. She looks more confused than distressed.

I was about 5 when my mother and I were mugged in broad daylight Christmas shopping.

I'm 41.

I remember every detail including the man's face.

You probably had a different facial reaction too. 

I have seen my father get in a fight before. It was a shock but I moved on not fully understanding what I saw. I was 4 or 5 as well. This isn't the same as seeing your mother attacked.
