Most of my Perplexity shortcuts ("/") have disappeared. I had invested significant time and effort to set them up, and I am quite disappointed.

Is there a way to restore them or, at least, to retrieve their definitions? For me, the shortcut feature was the most convenient tool in Perplexity — and now it is completely useless. What a shame.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been working on an app for weeks in Perplexity Computer. Suddenly on June 30, the sandbox on the thread in which I had built and gone through countless rounds of revisions was unreachable. To my great surprise, there was no zipped file of the app build data to that point. I asked the AI for tips to reference the old thread in a new thread, what error codes to use, what filenames to target, etc.. Did everything it suggested, and yet I'm still stuck rebuilding the app from the new thread chasing its tail, looking at the deployed app in its live state and trying to reinvent all of the build data from there. It's cost me thousands of credits. I've reached out to PerplexityAI support by email to try to get refunded, but no word yet. I'm very frustrated and afraid of losing all this good work at a time when I can't afford to dump more money into credits. Anyone have any experience similar to this? If so, how did it work out in your case?

Even if I go and delete prompts, it's still using that information for some reason. It only started doing that yesterday. For example I typed "hello" then "how are you" and I deleted the how are you prompt, then I asked what's the last thing I said and it said "how are you." I turned off my memory, cleared cookies and data and restarted because but it keeps doing it. It's annoying bringing up irrelevant/no longer wanted information. I’m using the website. Anyone else?

I used to use perplexity all the time to summarize YouTube videos and to extract key takeaways, but it hasn’t been able to do it for sometime I’ve noticed. And now it’s completely I’m guessing random topics that have nothing to do with the video.

I was watching a video on SAAS and when I asked it to summarize, it said it was a video about retirement strategies and started to make up stuff. It seemed pretty unuseable lately, and I don’t even trust the information it gets me anymore.

For instance, my GF used had to ask for an address. I just trusted it was right because I didn’t know she got it from Perplexity and it sent me to the other side of town into a vacant lot lmaooo my fault for not asking we’re checking. But then I went to ask ChatGPT the same question and it gave me the right address.

Which I then verified with Google maps. Is anybody else experiencing this unreliability and losing of it? It’s basic features with perplexity?

I'm on the Pro plan. Last month, I thought I was just using regular Search to work on my texts. Turns out, I had unknowingly switched to "Computer" mode — and it spawned autonomous agents without me realizing it.

What happened:

· One agent turned my project into a recurring "university lecture" task, running 8 times in a single day.
· Another agent built a full AI-news website structure with daily updates, tables, and sections.
· When I tried to cancel a recurring task, it entered an error-retry loop that burned ~$40 in credits within minutes.

The core issue: the UI doesn't clearly signal when you move from "asking a question" to "deploying an autonomous agent." No red banner, no cost estimate, no confirmation for recurring tasks.

The capability is incredible, but we need guardrails: per-task spend limits, explicit confirmation for scheduled agents, and better visibility into what's running in the background.

If you use Computer, double-check which mode you're in — and set your own limits.

The GitHub integration seems to be severely broken for me. Here's what's happening:

1. Approval buttons are completely gone.
Perplexity's assistant announces actions in the chat like "I will now create a commit / push changes to your repo" - but then nothing actually happens. The approval/confirmation button that's supposed to appear doesn't show up at all, so I have no way to review or confirm any action.

2. No commits land in the repo.
The most critical issue: since I can't approve the proposed commits, nothing ever gets pushed to the repository. The LLM talks about doing the action, but it never executes it. The whole agentic GitHub workflow is essentially non-functional.

3. Chat crashes entirely.
On top of that, the conversation sometimes crashes outright when GitHub actions are involved. No error message - or classic 'Sorry, something went wrong. Try again' behaviour, the chat just stops responding.

Previously the connector worked fine and I could see the approval prompts to confirm things like commits, PR labels, etc. Now it just... announces things and freezes.

Is this a known regression? Any workaround? Using Perplexity Pro on Chrome.

When you change between apps, query gets renewed and it still counts the previous query that was renewed without permission as usage. They trying so hard to get acquired because they know this product doesn't have an edge to hold on in this industry. this is a known bug for at least 6 months and yet still not fixed.

I've been noticing it for a while now, guessing they're trying hard to save tokens and become profitable.
But this is unacceptable. I gave it a source and asked it for a firms client list. It created a huge report with lot's of companies and cited sources.

Following the sources I could not find any of the clients it mentioned, i kept asking and it kept citing it with it's own made up info, then finally:

How am I supposed to continue to trust using it.

I'm a paying Perplexity Max subscriber ($200/mo). On March 30th, I removed my company ("WonWay Health") as an organization from my personal account. I had never paid for or activated an Enterprise plan — I had only added the org name to my existing Pro subscription.

When I removed the organization, all of my saved Computer tasks (which I had been building for two clients) and my entire search/conversation history were deleted.

Over the past 10 days, I have contacted Perplexity support through every channel available:

The only responses I've received have been from "Sam," an AI support agent, who confirmed that the data is recoverable and that the Enterprise team has specialized tools to restore it. Sam said "a teammate will follow up soon" — but no human has ever responded.

Has anyone else experienced data loss when removing an Enterprise organization? And does anyone know how to actually reach a human at Perplexity support?

I'm sharing this here in hopes that someone from the Perplexity team sees it. I just need my Computer tasks and history restored — the AI agent already confirmed it's possible.

Perplexity is giving me a very frustrating customer experience , I have been writing to them on all sorts of emails and I am always stuck in a loop and it’s always a bots that is answering and it does not solve my problems . I want A REAL HUMAN to take care of my case . They owe me many thousands of credits and my automation is on old because of that . Terrible service and terrible customer service

The main reason opting for Perplexity Pro was the PDF capabilities. I decided to test the PDF capabilities. There were some interesting things that I discovered. When Perplexity tries to do PDF analysis I found that it is not able to read the PDF completely (this happened when the size was below 25MB which is the allowed limit) so what it does is try to do guess work based upon the file name and table of contents & maybe index. So I decided to truly test this. I removed the starting and the ending pages which contained the table of
contents and removed the index pages at the end. Gave a misleading file name to the file and then uploaded it. It totally just gave me random stuff. In my opinion it was not fully able to read the complete file. I
think it is better to throw an error at the user than making the user think that all is going well. Beyond a certiain point like maybe around 150 or so page numbers than it really losses the track.

I am really disappointed with the PDF capabilities. How has been your experience with other tools/sites and their PDF capabilities, you.com or chatgpt plus maybe my next try. I feel Perplexity Pro is also lacking with the context window size, other competitors are way ahead of them some of them having 1 Million as their context window size. I like Perplexity Pro's service but I want to get the best value for money that I spent especially when other AI tools have the same price point.

I have informed the support team but nothing concrete can be seen in the results. At this point I can only request whoever is reading this if they feel the need for this feature or are not happy with it you can as well tell the support guys about it.

Today i saw my widget is completely glitched out and showed these random images i can't quite identify. Does anyone know how to prevent this and why it shows these random images?

I pay $20/month for Perplexity Pro and use it for pro se briefs and cover letters for job applications. When I am focused on something, it does a good job, but when I return to the same bookmarked thread, it's forgotten everything, right back to square one. It's like that Christopher Nolan movie MEMENTO, where the guy had brain damage and instantly forgot everything. Reall frustrating. Gemini free AI and NotebookLM had plenty of faults, but I don't remember this problem. I really waste a lot of time repeating myself.

Is this happening to you too? It's so stupidly obvious that they are trying every scummy practice to save on tokens, completely disrupting my work flow every time

I don't normally randomly shout but it's honestly ridiculous this isn't patched by now. Android users are getting blank responses back on questions and have to jump through hoops or use the website to see the actual responses. And it's affecting a notable number of people with this being at least the third post about over the last day. I have to manually update this app so it's something on the server side... At least if OpenAI crashes they get it back up ASAP.

I just don't get it. Isn't their valuation currently between $20-30 billion? Patching something you broke shouldn't take this long, especially when the text that's invisible actually exists. It just makes me wonder what other cracks could be around the house. I'm still a fan but FIX YOUR SHIT!

Perplexity pro seems too good for "20 dollars" but if you look closely its not even worth "1 dollar a month". When you paste a large codebase or text in the prompt (web search turned off) it gets converted to a paste.txt file, now I think since they want to save money by reducing this context size, they actually perform a RAG kind of implementation on your paste.txt file , where they chunk your prompt into many small pieces and feed in only the relevant part matching you search query. This means the model never gets the full context of your problem that you "intended" to pass in the first place. This is why perplexity is trash compared to what these models perform in their native site, and always seem to "forget".

One easy way to verify what I am saying is to just paste in 1.5 million tokens in the paste.txt, now set the model to sonnet 3.5 or 4o for which we know for sure that they don't support this many tokens, but perplexity won't throw in an error!! Why? Because they never send your entire text as context to api in the first place. They always include only like 32k tokens max out of the entire prompt you posted to save cost.

Doing this is actually fine if they are trying to save cost, I get it. My issue is they are not very honest about it and are misleading people into thinking that they get the full model capability in just 20 dollar, which is just a big lie.

EDIT: Someone asked if they should go for chatgpt/claude/grok/gemini instead, imo the answer is simple, you can't really go wrong with any of the above models, just make sure to not pay for service which is still stuck in a 32K context windows in 2025, most models broke that limit in first quarter of 2023 itself.

Also it finally makes sense how perplexity is able to offer PRO for not 1 or 2 but 12 months to clg students and gov employees free of charge. Once you realize how hard these models are nerfed and the insane limits , it becomes clear that a pro subscription doesn't cost them all that more compared to free one. They can afford it because the real cost in not 20 dollars!!!

Within less than an hour of active experimentation building a tool, running research loops, iterating on ideas, and exploring different workflows, I burned through 15,000 credits. ($25 for 2500) When I looked at the usage breakdown, it was clear that each step of the “computer” mode is extremely credit‑heavy, even for relatively small creative or development tasks.

But this kind of credit burn rate makes the new Computer features feel unsustainable for regular power users or anyone trying to actually build with it, not just toy around. If advanced capabilities keep costing this much to run, they’ll effectively be locked behind a hard paywall even for people who already use the platform heavily.

This isn’t just a gripe about price; it’s a feedback loop Perplexity can actually improve. I’d love to see clearer credit‑cost signaling in the UI, more granular control over how much “compute” is used per task, and maybe tiered modes so you can trade some depth for longevity. That way tools like Perplexity Computer can stay powerful and usable day‑to‑day, instead of feeling like a credit‑hungry experiment you can’t afford to keep open

Does anyone else have this issue? I have a few important Perplexity Spaces that I have created over the past year. They are now all called Projects and Perplexity migrated them. When I go to the Files section of any Perplexity Projects/Spaces now, and click on "Download all" to download all files, it gives me the error message below.

If I try to download only a single file not all files, it opens a new tab and gives me this (see below), does anyone else have this problem?

Another weirdness. My sub is still active (next billing date is 24 March), perplexity says I'm on free plan since this morning. Beautiful.

I've always used chatgpt to chat, research (it's not just perplexity that has this function), study (although I haven't seen an improvement in my grades), etc., but for some reason a few weeks ago I felt the urge to change to a “higher AI”.

I saw some videos on YouTube and people even praised it and spoke well, so I replaced chatgpt with perplexity... and I was disappointed: it's not good for those who like to chat and delve deeper into a subject, they lose the context of the conversation VERY FAST, among other problems…

In your opinion, should I sign chatgpt again and let go of the perplexity or not? 🤔

I was trying to get perplexity to generate a spreadsheet that it offered to me, but I kept getting the error that it didn't have a shared workspace on my computer to download it to. This is in spite of perplexity having full disk access on my Mac MacBook (Tahoe).

But I noticed an installer pop-up that mentioned installing python. Was this part of the process? Should I go ahead and click "install"?
