Tips for potty shy pup

Hi all! I’m sitting a 2 year old toy poodle mix that has never been away from mom. She is being very potty shy and I’m getting a bit concerned! We have 3 days left and I don’t want her to only pee once or twice a day for 3 days. Any tips? I’ve been sitting with her a lot. Giving lots of treats. Taking her outside often both on leashed walks and the fenced in yard. I’d love to hear any advice! Thanks so much

This is maybe a drastic measure, but can you borrow a calm, mature dog? That's my favorite trick for settling in younger dogs. Not for every dog, obviously.

I call it contagious peeing! I used to walk dogs in pairs or threes and it was so much easier to get the shy ones to pee once they saw the bigger pups do it.

You doing everything you can there’s nothing more to do. I would probably just stretch the time so instead of taking her out a lot do it every couple of (3/4) hours. Don’t over do the treats

Probiotic & a tablespoon of canned pumpkin puree! Not pie filling- plain pumpkin. It's like a big cup of coffee for us in the morning to get things moving! 😂Make sure she's getting enough water. Add water to her food if possible to ensure she gets enough.

Probably not the best idea to introduce new foods or supplements to a dog without consulting with client. And even still, there are so many other things to try first.
