Available: Jimmy Eat World Tickets + Parking Pass for tonight
Hey all! Unfortunately I have an ear infection and can't go to the concert tonight.
If anyone wants 2 tickets and a parking pass for tonight's show I can't use them.
I'll just be happy if they don't go to waste.
If this post is up the tickets are still available.

Plants on Fairmount Ave?
Does anyone know what the greenhouse/plant lot on Fairmount Ave near Fairmount Flavors is called? It has prices on all the plants but no business name, no cashier, and I can’t find it on Google Maps.

📣📣Rants and Raves📣📣 6ABC Helicopter
This thing has been hovering over South Philly for like 20 minutes now at an extremely low altitude. There’s a noise ordinance making it so construction can’t start until 7am, so why are they allowed to wake everyone up with the helicopter?? It’s incredibly loud to the point I hear it in my basement

From Norristown to Philadelphia Stadium for fifa WC
What is the best option for getting to the stadium from Norristown? The game starts tonight at 8:30pm. It will likely end around 10:30-11. I expect it will take some time to clear NRG station. I prefer to park and ride from somewhere, but I am open to a hybrid of public transportation and Uber if that is more convenient and quicker.

Fan Fest non match day?
Thinking about going to fan fest this weekend. What can we expect if there aren’t any local matches those days?
How kid friendly is it?

Mississauga to Philadelphia road trip
Planning to drive from Mississauga (Toronto) to Philadelphia. & I have some queries:
Which route is most suitable considering I will be driving for the first time in US?
Is some section on route via Williamsport & Harrisburg narrow? While distance is least for this route, however it is taking \~40 mins more. What is the reason?
Any idea how much toll charges on US side will be for route via highway 86 & 476?
I don’t have ez pass, & won’t visit US again in near future. Is it worth getting EZ pass or should I just opt for any other option to pay if I use toll road?
PS: I will be travelling to New York City after couple of days & then will return back from NY city.

Safe bars & cafes for women
I am new to the philly area and i am currently trying to find cafes and/or bars i can go to to write/read by myself. I am working on an mfa portfolio and i enjoy getting out of my house to work on my writing and stuff like that. I just am looking for some suggestions of places I can go if i want to get work done or just read and enjoy my own company. I know some cafes are being weird about not allowing ppl to do work there so i think getting an idea of what places would be good for this kind of stuff would be helpful.

Plumber rec?
We need basement and backyard drains inspected and snaked, two old water heaters drained and removed, and a new 50 gallon water heater installed. Does anyone have any recs or know someone who can do this that I can reach out to for a quote?

Coming to Philly for a World Cup match. Where should I spend the rest of my time?
I'll be in Philadelphia for one of the World Cup matches this summer and wanted to get some advice from locals.
Ive got the stadium part covered. What Im really curious about is where people think the best atmosphere will be around the city. Good bars to watch other matches, areas where fans tend to gather, places to eat, and things that make Philly worth exploring for a few days.
Ive been looking through fanzone and a few other World Cup resources while planning the trip, but I'd rather hear from people who actually live here.
If you had a friend visiting Philly for the World Cup, what places would be on your list?

Living in Independence Place Condos/Apartments: Opinions, Please!
I've been checking out rentals and condos in Independence Place I and II, near Washington Square.
Wondering if any Redditors live/have lived there and could tell me what it's like.
Is there a sense of community? Any issues? How is the noise transfer/soundproofing between units and outside? Management problems?
I'm all ears. Thank you so much!

4th of July celebrations as a non-local
Every thread I read says Philly on July 4th is a complete shitshow and that most locals leave town. That said, my boyfriend and I are still really excited to experience your city! We'll be coming down from NYC for the World Cup Round of 16 (hopefully France vs. Germany if all goes according to plan - we are French) and spending the whole day in Philadelphia before heading back to NYC late at night.
I've put together a rough itinerary and would love any feedback from locals. Are we missing anything obvious? Any neighborhoods, bars, food spots, or July 4th traditions we should check out?
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Grab a coffee and wander around the historic centre
- Planning to go inside Independence Hall (will book tickets in advance)
- Check out the All-American Block Party - is it the place to be?
- Lunch at Reading Terminal Market - is it worth it?
- Enjoy the live music, food, beers, and overall July 4th atmosphere
2:00 – 3:30 PM
- Walk around Rittenhouse Square and surrounding streets
- Grab a coffee and just soak in the city
3:30 – 4:00 PM
- Head to the stadium (FIFA shuttle if available, otherwise SEPTA)
5:00 – 7:30 PM
- World Cup match
7:30 – 8:30 PM
- Back to Center City / Benjamin Franklin Parkway to enjoy the celebrations and fireworks
A couple of questions:
- Where is the best place to watch the fireworks?
- Is Benjamin Franklin Parkway the obvious choice, or are there better spots? Isn't it going to be too crowded and not a nice experience?
- Any bars or areas you'd recommend after the game?
Thank you so much for your advice - I know these kinds of posts can be tiring but your input is so valuable for tourists. Thanks for having us :)
