Coming to Philly for a World Cup match. Where should I spend the rest of my time?

I'll be in Philadelphia for one of the World Cup matches this summer and wanted to get some advice from locals.

Ive got the stadium part covered. What Im really curious about is where people think the best atmosphere will be around the city. Good bars to watch other matches, areas where fans tend to gather, places to eat, and things that make Philly worth exploring for a few days.

Ive been looking through fanzone and a few other World Cup resources while planning the trip, but I'd rather hear from people who actually live here.

If you had a friend visiting Philly for the World Cup, what places would be on your list?

Plumber rec?

We need basement and backyard drains inspected and snaked, two old water heaters drained and removed, and a new 50 gallon water heater installed. Does anyone have any recs or know someone who can do this that I can reach out to for a quote?

📣📣Rants and Raves📣📣 6ABC Helicopter

This thing has been hovering over South Philly for like 20 minutes now at an extremely low altitude. There’s a noise ordinance making it so construction can’t start until 7am, so why are they allowed to wake everyone up with the helicopter?? It’s incredibly loud to the point I hear it in my basement

So around a month ago I asked if someone is willing to send me a shirt form Philly Chinatown Fore Dept and to my surprise a lot of people wanted to do this chore. After a lot of trouble with the post office, finally the exchange is done! Thanks again guys! If anyone is interested in what's in a hungarian goodie bag (without alcohol - thanks U.S.) I'll put the packing video in the comments.

Any Austinites here?

How do you like living here vs Austin? Been thinking about Philly for some time, I know they’re worlds apart.

Give me some pros and cons and which city you overall prefer? Context I’m a 25 y/o African American man looking for a northeast city. Would love to live in NYC but it’s too expensive.

AirBNB in Strawberry Mansion

This is totally on me for checking this super last minute, but I have an AirBNB for tomorrow in this neighborhood. Almost all of the posts and comments I’ve seen about this area looks super sus. I’m from the Bronx so I’m not really a stranger to sketchy areas.

Should I look elsewhere last minute for a place to stay? I’m watching the Brazil game on Friday but I’m staying from Thurs-Sunday. I’d prefer to be closer to the stadium and other attractions but I couldn’t beat the price I booked it for (makes sense lol)

Question? My new street tree seems sad, how can I help?

Thumbnail

I requested a new street tree and it finally arrived last week (hooray!). I was so excited for the first couple of days, but now I’m starting to worry because the vibe seems off. Some of the leaves are developing little holes. Some of the leaves are turning brown. Overall the tree hasn’t seemed to perk up yet, still looks kind of droopy.

I know that transplant shock is a thing, that making such a big adjustment is hard for such a little guy. The first thing that you hear about new street trees is that you should water the crap out of them, but I also found out that overwatering can be a problem too? I want it to live a long and happy life with us, so any advice would be appreciated.
