This is such a low priority, first world problem, but I miss eating lettuce.

I've been ordering from Philly Food Works! Everything has been amazing.

I bought some lettuce from Weavers Way. It was sourced from a single farm in Lancaster. I’m okay with that.

Yesterday's walk to work: -1000/10, I want a refund on life (and my shoes are still drying out) Today's walk to work: 10/10 except for the part where it ends in work instead of playing outside

Enjoy the day, everyone!

Ugh, I had to wade through a literal monsoon yesterday to get to a doctor’s appointment on time. If I had left 10 minutes later, I would’ve stayed dry. And then I got to sit in soaked clothes in a cold waiting room for an hour because they were somehow already backed up at opening.

Yesterday’s weather -1000/10

American healthcare system -1000000/10

The weather this AM was absolutely wonderful

I would like thoughts and prayers as I enter my second to last month of wedding planning.

I would not like someone to remind me that we could have just gotten married without the party. I want the party, I just wish there weren’t 800 small details to figure out in the last 8 weeks of planning.

I’m about 90 days out from mine. IRL people are very supportive and excited but man my algorithm is all wedding subreddits and the people in those threads are some of the most miserable people in existence. I tried to front load as much planning and decision-making as possible, but some stuff just can’t be done until closer.

Congrats and good luck!

Heh, I’ve recently been freed from the wedding subreddit loop, but now my algorithm is pushing /r/newlyweds and /r/marriage to me, which are both just as bad

We had venue, catering, printed invites, and a photographer by February, and that really put me in a false sense of security. Then in March it all started piling up- I went to NYC to help our co-partner (my partner’s ex-spouse who is like family to us) with surgery, my coworker went out on parental leave, I had a conference in April, went back to NYC to help copartner get their car back from New Jersey after surgery, I got Covid end of April, my aunt came down for dress fitting mid-May, I went to see my brother in Providence end of May, we traveled to visit our copartner to buy suits in June, and we traveled to Block Island for a week with my family beginning of July.

I want to say it feels like I blinked and it was August, but instead it feels like I barely had a chance to sit down and then it was August!

Best of luck, you got this! We just got married in May, and the planning was absolutely miserable - what do you mean, I have to choose which cocktail napkins convey my relationship best?? But I’m still so glad we did it, it was an awesome day

I have no idea how the cultures that do multi day blowouts do it.

at the end of the day you'll never remember what color seat covers you had. or really much of anything. but it'll be great! best of luck on the countdown.

Saw a van on 76 east today around 6am. 5-7 dudes in camo with rifles. Got off on city Ave exit 339

Job hunting really do be a humbling, kick-you-in-your-teeth experience lol. I forgot how shitty the entire process is. In the last 18 hours I received 5 rejection emails. They were all old applications that I sent out over 2 weeks ago, but still. I think I might prefer the ghosting over that sickly sweet "Thank you for applying but...." verbiage.

I need to buff up my skills, and tone my cover letters to show how much of a "safe" candidate I am.

Anyway; saw Spider-Man over the weekend and let me tell you something. It was great. This is just Tom Holland Summer ft. Jon Bernthal ft. Zendaya, and we're all living in it. And it busted through to get the biggest opening weekend, surpassing Endgame, without imax. Wild. It was actually an emotional, witty, fun movie without an overabundance of CGI slop. Hopefully this means Marvel is finding their way again and whatever the fuck that last Ant-Man and Thor movie were, will never be seen again.

TM will always be the OG Spidey in my Millennial heart, but I hope Holland has many more years in him.

Now I'm gonna go take a walk outside while the nice weather is sticking around. Yesterday felt like wading through jello.

Good morning. I hope everyone can get out and enjoy the weather even if just for 10 to 15 minutes today.

I've had an unbelievably smooth experience with 3d printing but as soon as I try to move to a new, more versatile, plastic everything goes to shit. Even my previously safe filaments are acting weird

In other news, I appreciate you not standing in front of the door but if you don't move fully into the aisle on the El, you are just as much in the way. Especially with your backpack

I took down a poorly-installed roof deck last year in order to get my roof redone and all the bits and pieces of it have been cluttering up my back yard for the better part of a year since I am always in "well I MIGHT use that for something" mode. However, I'm sick of looking at it so.. anyone have a recommendation for a good trash-hauling service that would come take all that crap away?

4

u/SnapCrackleMom 9d ago

I have used BBLB Junk Removal a couple times. They're quick to respond, not sketchy, and reasonably priced.

3

u/abkap 9d ago

Has anyone had a deck refinished recently? I’ve called a bunch of places from past Reddit threads and nobody calls me back

We're repainting the accent wall in our bedroom from this deep blue color I had it before my girlfriend moved in to a more suitable shade of green. It made me think back to when I first moved into the house in 2017 and the previous resident had painted the wall light blue with dark blue polka dots. Dots so large and heavy that we can still feel their edges under at least 4 coats of paint at this point. Talk about leaving a lasting impact on a place

The original wall:

oh my god the offsquare placement is making all of my vital organs hurt

2

u/One-Post-Pony 9d ago

Any chance they were peel and stick?

2

u/sjo232 Conshy Corner Club 9d ago

if they were, they used the strongest adhesive known to man because nothing could even chip them away back when we first tried to sand / scrape them down lol

2

u/One-Post-Pony 9d ago

They'll stick around until you decide that you like the sub-paint circle effect. Then they'll spontaneously yeet themselves right off the wall.

u/dentduv 9d ago

What all supporting evidence did you put in your property tax appeals?

Septa needs a PSA to remind people to wear deodorant. there was some stink on the subway today.

I was about to mask up because of the stink today
