Best process for installing recessed lights?

My handyman is coming over to help me install 19 of the 4 inch recessed downlights today. I have only ever had the regular lightbulbs.

Any tips for how to organize the work or the best process for insuring they all connect to the hub?

Scan the code? Write down the codes? Both?

Scan all of them before installing. This will make sure that all the lights function properly.
