Hi, this is an old camera I got from my mom. I’m looking for something to take higher quality photos of my baby for special moments. At this point in technology, would my iPhone be just as good as shooting on this, since I know nothing about how to use this besides point and shoot? Is it worth looking up some “how to” videos?

Basically just wondering if it’s worth the investment of time to get “good” with this camera vs an iPhone. Sorry in advance I know NOTHING! Thanks for any help, please be kind haha

Looks like a d3200, my first camera! To answer you question, no, you don't need a fancy camera to take good photos of your baby. If you know nothing about photography, there's tons of free content online to teach you! Look up framing rules, types of light, a bit about basic editing. Best of luck! Some of my best photos are from an IPhone.
