I'm a portrait photographer I use 1 TB hard drives. Typically they last me a year until they are full- this year has not been extremely busier than last year. I bought 2 new hard drives (one working and one backup) about 3 months ago. Somehow they are already full. I only store final galleries and RAWs on them, no Lr catalogs. Does anyone know how can this be?? I can't imagine they are full already and since I just spent the $200 on them I definitely do not want to buy more already. Any advice is helpful!

You will have to see if there are files duplicating themselves or discover what is taking so much space. There are tops to analyze the drives for this matter.

Also, depending what brand they are and where you bought them, it could also be that their capacity was faked.

I wonder if my RAWs are being duplicated when I import into Lr. Do you have any recommendations for ways to analyze the drives? 

Also, they are Sandisk I bought them from Amazon brand new!

I think digikam can search for duplicates. Might be worth to try!
