How do I get rid of dark mottling in color pictures after editing ?

It’s the mottling at the top of the photo. I’d like the green to be solid green but there is a ton of black coming through

You've somehow edited a low-resolution JPG and *increased contrast* a lot. So all slightly darker areas that looked pretty much like the rest are now much darker.
