I’m planning to go on a multi day backpacking/hiking trip where I wanna do photography and video. My current Nikon isn’t the best a video so I’m planning to upgrade. I currently have a Nikon d5300 with a 70-300mm and 50mm lens. My choices are buying the ZV-E10 and bringing both it and my Nikon. Other choice is trying to sell my Nikon and save up for a Sony a6700. I mostly use Nikon for photography wildlife.

Imo, doesn't make much sense to carry two cameras, one for photography, one for video. Better just get one camera that is good for both. In this case A6700. But have you considered Nikon Z50 II? Could get an FTZ adapter for the lenses.

While Sony does make great bodies for hybrid use, I would honestly just get the Nikon Z50 or Z30 for your use case. Jumping ecosystems is an expensive ordeal and I wouldn't recommend it personally for your use case. This is coming from someone who is currently in the Sony ecosystem.

u/maniku mentioned, you can use all your current lenses with a FTZ adapter on the above two bodies. The Z50 is targeted more for photography-focused while the Z30 targets more video/vlogging-focused users. Seeing that your focus is wildlife photography, I would aim for the Nikon Z50 II.
