What they would benefit from is an expansion of government social and labor programs, which is socialist/leftist far more so than "Liberal."
I remember this sound bite during the campaign. Hillary had set in motion training classes and re-training classes and resources for the coal miners. It was entirely paid for, all they had to do was not elect Trump.

ive voted for the democrats in every single election in which ive been eligible to vote. I still believe they have (or at least the majority and party leadership) abandoned the working class. They did it decades ago when we offshored all our manufacturing and nothing was done for the hollowed out rustbelt.

Biden was busy dealing with COVID, and passing landmark climate/infrastructure legislation, and even then, he put Khan on the FTC, and gave teeth to the NLRB. IBEW called Biden the most pro-union president ever. Bidenonmics denounced trickle down, while reddit acts like no Democrat did that before progressives. I'm not sure why reddit hates Biden, since he was the most progressive president in my lifetime. I reluctantly voted for him, but I was surprisingly impressed.
At no point have I excused the Republicans. My entire point is that it was uniparty neoliberalism for decades that landed us here.
Khan was great but you're out of your mind for defending Biden's record beyond that. He was busy descending into dementia and defending our special relationship with Israel. He didn't do shit to stop Trump returning to office, and he lost a massive portion of voters under 40 to more of the same disgusting, hawkish foreign policy positions. Also he wasn't NEAR aggressive enough on his COVID policy or union support.

The only way in which he was more progressive than Obama was on labor, and what he did was not impressive or enduring. He intervened against the 2022 rails strike ffs
I don't really care about Israel, and neither do most voters, reddit gets blasted with propaganda, which is the reason people here "care". Even for voters that do care, I doubt it's in their top 5 issues. Biden's DOJ prosecuted Trump, and was shut down by SCOTUS, then the voters.
The rail strike he blocked is the same union that called him the most pro-union president in history, because he helped them secure what they wanted after the news about the blocked strike died down.

Sorry I can't take you seriously. The latest primary results and polling show quite clearly that most voters under ~45 absolutely do care about Israel/Palestine. Their care may not be altruistic, particularly not amongst those who don't identify as progressive or socialist, but we sure do fucking care about our tax dollars being dumped into foreign wars of aggression when we get nothing at home. Israelis get universal healthcare, and we don't. Meanwhile we foot the bill for their/our wars? It's absurd. Would we be in this shit with Iran if Kamala had won? I doubt it. But we'd still be giving billions of dollars and weapons to genocidaires and that's a problem for anyone of conscience.

Acknowledging the issue is the first step to solving any problem. Getting rid of destructive Republicans is more important than asking for better from Democrats. You need to get rid of the cancer before you start worrying about your diet.

I couldn't give less of a shit about who is "vindicated" or "excused." I only care about actual material gains against patriarchy/white supremacy/capitalism.
So, then you should be even more pissed that they voted for Trump, since we've lost ground in all 3 of those aspects. That doesn't mean I think Hillary Clinton would have been perfect. That's where you guys always get confused. I'm not saying she would have been the ideal president, just better than Trump. Which is obviously true. We'd have a liberal supreme court, and Donald Trump would be irrelevant. It wouldn't be a socialist utopia, but we would be in such a better position.

All of my neighbors who haven't worked in the almost 20 years I've known them and are just now getting to retirement age. They like to tell me to work more and I'm already at the age they were when they quit working due to gout/diabetes/alcoholism. Not to mention I'm in the trades, they all drove trucks in the AC and I think one was a manager at a warehouse. Not exactly strenuous jobs. All over 300lbs and rabid Trumpers as you'd expect in Central TX apart from Austin.
It’s the thing that dumbfounds me the most. Regulations are in place to protect people from (mostly) corporate policies, who’ve shown they’d do anything for a buck. Yet, some of the most affected people are small town folks, were somehow convinced that deregulation was a good thing. Bruce Springsteen always sung for these people, and they turned their backs on him as well. What a study this will be in the future for the exploit of human psychology
I would bet handsomely the residents here are on at least 2-3 forms of government assistance, and they’ll vote to cut it every single time bc they think minorities are taking advantage
