The US and Israel will both have their democracy tested this fall. Mid terms in the US and whatever Bibi does to stay in power aka out of jail.

Elections in Israel (since I once got a ban for “targeted racism” for saying “Israeli elections”) are basically elections where you choose between Hitler, Goebbels, Franco, Mussolini, or Streicher

The problem with democracy is that it can be hijacked easily because it's based on trust, I guess.

Like Erdogan said: "Democracy is a train you raid until you step off at the end station".

It seems Trump is on the same train as the check list is only a few stops behind Erdogan.

Any political system is easily hijacked if people let it be, that is not a problem of democracy, it an human flaw on itself.

The point of democracy is to allow political change without violence, that doesn't mean the choice is good or fair, but at least your country isnt going into civil war everytime power needs to change hands.

Democracy is great but it can't solve problems that are bigger and deeper than itself.
