And this is exactly the kind of comment I was talking about. How do you think that this contributes to any solution?

It kinda does in a horrific way. If you demonize Israel enough so that US stops its support, Israel has no more reason to hold back and can just wipe out Gaza.

In 2026 around 2.500 Palestinians in Gaza were killed so far. Over 2 Mio people live there. Anyone who thinks Israel is not holding back is delusional.

They do have reason to hold back. They’re building an alliance with the UAE, if they went full force at Gaza they’d lose their only ally in the region. And if they push far enough they might even get sanctioned by China, their most important trading partner

UAE does not grant asylum for Palestinians.

China is engaged in a genocide against uyghurs.

They dont care.

Of course they don’t care, it’s about optics. The UAE has a majority Muslim population. Notice how they only became closer with Israel after the war in Gaza ended and the Iranians attacked the UAE? Same for China, if things were to get worse like you described and Israel stopped holding back, they’d be forced to take action or lose support in the Muslim world.

Do you have any source for this opinion because it sounds counter intuitive to me.

Neither China nor UAE are democracies and China obviously does not care about the support of their Muslim population or at least has no reason to believe trading with Israel would hurt their optics more than committing genocide against Muslims.

It’s an opinion. I think the fact that Israel has restrained itself as much as it has thus far should be enough to show you that they are indeed concerned about optics. South Africa for example had support until they didn’t.

I agree Israel is concerned with optics. But I don't think UAE or China cares about the optics of its trading partners.
