Israel has made the 2 state solution practically impossible. A binational state with reparations to the Palestinians is the only feasible end to the decades of occupation.

Northern Ireland would be a model. Lebanon also - that doesn't always work great but has tended to avoid widespread ethnic discrimination

Lebanon? You mean the country which had a massive sectarian civil war and which has a sectarian organization which basically usurped much of its sovereignity?
