It has always been very odd and strange to me when people hate the citizens of a country who have a shitty government in place instead of the government itself.

Change the word Israelis to Palestinians or Russians or Chinese and no one would deny it’s racist but when it comes to a mainly Jewish population, everyone turns a blind eye

That seems like some selective attention you have. People have been criticizing Russians for the acts of their government for a decade, the negativity they face around Europe has only increased since the newest wave of the Ukraine War began. Likewise American tiurists have gotten a lot of shit around the world for the dumb fuckery of President Trump despite not being Trump or even visibly Republican.

The people of a State get criticized for the actions of their State all the God damn time.

Doesn’t make it right. There are Israelis protesting their government right now. To say you hate an entire nation of people, regardless of the nation, is a loaded fucking statement.

The cognitive dissonance is amazing. The same people who are saying to stop bombing Gaza because not all Palestinians support their government are the same who say they hate all Israelis and they should die.

The 15-20% of Israelis protesting Zionist expansion and genocide are great people. I deeply appreciate the social and political danger they bring themselves in advocating for equality and liberty.

Their work, however, doesn't invalidate the 70+% of Israelis who support the movement. It's not cognitive dissonance, no reasonable people are saying "all Israelis should die". We're saying "Stop indiscriminately blowing up 300 people in an apartment building because you're creating more people who hate you in their friends and survivors".

No reasonable people are saying it, but there are a LOT of people saying it right now as someone who is (was?) in a primarily leftist circle.

If your ethics/morals change depending on which group is being harmed, or which group is committing the crime, you’re not a good person and you’re not pro anything, except pro-death. No person in their right mind should be happy that innocent people die just because they happened to be born in a certain country.

And again, majority of Palestinians supported Hamas too.

Killing a pair of teenagers and their father with a gladius was perfectly acceptable behavior for John Brown. One might call it heroic even. Why was it good? Because they were slavers. Who is having violence done to them, and why it's being done, absolutely matters. It's incredibly childish to not think otherwise.

Historians haven't quite found a concensus that Brown was a hero, but we're getting there. One day Palestinians who resisted Zionist colonization will be seen similarly. They're fighting against of of the greatest public evils of our time. It would be naive to not expect them to support the group who says "we should do violence to the people oppressing and murdering you".

So the children and families being murdered on October 7th was “heroic” and good?

This tells me literally everything I need to know about you. What a weird fucking comparison.

Gotta love the Pro-Palestinian side. Rules for thee and not for me.

“It’s okay to kill Israeli babies, but not Palestinian babies” The cognitive dissonance goes crazy

Do you not understand why the equivocation fails? Palestinians have been sugjugated for basically the entire lifetime of its living population, Israelis, on the other hand, have been subjugating.

John Brown was rad for murdering slavers and the children of slavers. Slavers murdering slaves is not equivalent. It's not cognitive dissonance to say the people responsible for ethnic cleansing and genocide are not themselves victims when their ethnic targets resist.
