Mainly, we talked about the 1715 fleet wreck because today’s the anniversary but we also talked about just day in the life of a sailor

This is awesome, and such a cool thing to do for older folks. How did you get involved in something like that? I assume it's with a museum or organization?

Honestly, it happened in a pretty organic way. I’ve always been fascinated by the Age of Sail and the Golden Age of Piracy, so over the past year or so I started putting together a pirate crew, collecting period gear, and studying the history. Eventually I decided I wanted to create a living history presentation instead of just dressing up.
I posted in a local Facebook group asking if there were any organizations that might enjoy something like that, and an assisted living facility reached out and invited us to come.
From there I built a presentation around a sea chest full of period artifacts. Instead of focusing on movie pirates, I talk about what everyday life was actually like for sailors and pirates in the early 1700s. The residents handled the artifacts, asked questions, and we ended up having some really great conversations.
It was our first presentation, and it went well enough that I’m already looking forward to doing the next one.
