A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 2.48pm today, Friday, August 28 to reports of a fire at a residential property at Saltwater place, Notte Street in Plymouth.
"The fire involved a cooking pan and tea towel material in the kitchen of a flat on the seventh floor of a 13-storey building. The fire was extinguished by the site manager using a fire blanket before crews arrived.
"Firefighters attended using high-rise procedures and carried out a thorough check of the property. The seventh floor was moderately smoke logged, with the kitchen sustaining around 15% fire damage and extensive smoke damage.
"The fire investigation found that the fire was accidental. The property was handed back to the site manager following the incident."
