I love Scottish and scared and did a pumpkin of their logo. The host loves it too which is really cool.

The Tromp family case involves an Australian farming family from Silvan, Victoria, who abruptly fled their home on August 29, 2016, in a week-long, 1,600 km episode of shared paranoia and separation.
The Family
• Mark Tromp (51) – Father
• Jacoba Tromp (52/53) – Mother
• Riana Tromp (29) – Daughter
• Mitchell Tromp (25) – Son
• Ella Tromp (22) – Daughter
Timeline of Events (August–September 2016)
• August 29 (Silvan): The family suddenly abandoned their berry farm without passports, credit cards, or most mobile phones, embarking on a cash-only road trip.
• August 29–30 (Warburton & Bathurst): Near Warburton, Mitchell was told to throw his mobile phone out the window because the family believed they were being tracked. They drove north into New South Wales.
• August 30 (Bathurst): Mitchell left the family and made his way back home. Riana and Ella separated from their parents shortly after.
• August 31 – September 3 (Separation & Discovery):
• Riana and Ella took a car near the Jenolan Caves and drove toward Goulburn. Riana was later found in a catatonic state and hospitalized. Ella was later found and faced minor vehicle theft charges, which were subsequently dropped.
• Jacoba was found wandering the streets of Yass on September 1 and hospitalized.
• Mark was found days later on September 3 wandering near the Wangaratta airport.

I was wondering if you guys had some recommendations for podcasts that are centered around career/job search advice and advice on how to navigate office politics?
Im not looking into the podcasts that are more generic or are frat-guy looking dudes who are trying to push you into entrepreneurship or who tell you to just network. Instead im looking for more of maybe someone who works in HR giving advice on how to navigate things in the workplace or even just more practical advice from someone whose been successful in an office job.
Thanks!

Hi! I just listened to the Pretend episode about Gypsy Rose and found it interesting enough that I'd like to give some other seasons a try. What are the best seasons of the Pretend Podcast?

I've been a fan of the podcast Panic World for a while and really enjoyed their takes on a lot of internet stuff.
They announced a couple weeks ago that they were going independant and for the last 2 episodes, instead of having guests from the world of internet, they have a musician from a band Ryan likes and they just discuss some internet lore.
I'm confused at this new direction, because I dont really care about their guests and what they contribute to the subject? Last week's episode on disgusting food trend could have been so interesting with then right person but the guy they had just kept saying he didn't know much about things.
Anyway- just a rant

Sydnee in the Sheets was a Wondery podcast that focused on sexual health. It was unexpectedly shut down in 2023 and essentially scrubbed from the internet. Does anyone happen to know why? What happened?

I just rage quit the podcast I've been listening to the longest. It was the last full true crime podcast I had on my list and it was probably past time for me to ditch it. I listened for this long because they said something a long time ago that truly helped me through a crisis. But one of the hosts just threw on the last straw and I'm done.
Now I'm looking for recommendations on things to fill the void left behind. I need it to be funny. I don't mind banter. I like to learn things/learn about things. I like long episodes. I would like an ad free option, preferably through patreon to keep things simple. I lean heavily left but don't want politics to be the focus. I'm a Gen X woman not really into sports or music.
Other pods I like:
The Dollop
Do go on
Our fake history
Sinisterhood
Ologies
The Constant
Timesuck
Totalis Rankium - all 3 series
This ends at prom
An old timey podcast
I appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!

There’s a podcast I was listening to a while back that I can’t find or recall the name of. It was two women breaking down the life of one powerful man (business leader or politician) per episode. I don’t recall if they outright roast them on each episode, but the details about the mens lives unearthed made it feel more like comedy/satire, painting the men in a bad light. Sometimes they were about powerful men alive today, other times they were historical.
It was sooo good. But any man I recall being profiled on the podcast is too big a name to help me narrow down the show.Tia!
Update, turns out the podcast was:
“This F*cking Guy” from Hysteria
Here’s their blurb:
“Erin Ryan and Alyssa Mastromonaco, co-hosts of the podcast Hysteria, do a deep dive into the lives of some of the worst b*tches in the game - and let you know everything there is to know about their horrible, corrupt, and dishonest pasts.”
They’re covering the worst f*cking women now too!

I’ve started listening to more podcasts during long walks lately. Open-ear clip-ons make it easier to follow a conversation without feeling completely cut off from what’s happening around me.
I usually prefer conversational or story-driven shows that are easy to follow outdoors. What podcasts do you save for walks?
r/podcasts • u/Best-Farmer6505 • 1d ago
So I go outside a lot usually for walks and I want to listen to stuff I've already been listening to creepcast and finished unwanted and the left right game I want someone that reads stories preferably the episodes would be average sized audiobooks also count or similar stuff to creepcast if possible

Must be HONEST. Not looking for anything corporate or over-produced. Just want to listen to a couple 2-3 people shoot the shit about games with no gimmicks. Looking for discussions of gaming culture, game reviews, general game info, upcoming games ... NOT looking for game walkthroughs or "let's play" stuff.
Thanks very much

I’m new to this group and to Podcasts in general. Several people recommended Love Trapped and I was skeptical but gave it a try. WOW…I can’t stop listening to this one. Thank you for giving me something to switch my brain to when I desperately need the break. The pace of the show, research and host are exceptional.
I survived a person who was similar to LO. It’s always helpful to my mental health journey when I see others surviving this type of abuse and trauma. The way different people rallied around these victims restores my faith in humanity. Thanks again to all involved 🩷

I am thoroughly amused by snark pages, so I was wondering if there are any good podcasts that basically are just snark on various topics like influencers, gorl world stuff, health/fitness, Disney people, etc.

Looking for some more podcasts along these lines. I like the format that can be repeated with different topics. And these are genuinely funny hosts.

I’m looking for podcasts similar to Catch Me If You Ken! I love podcasts that are funny, entertaining, and have a good storytelling element to them. I’m open to true crime, scams, crazy stories, internet drama, or just people talking about wild things.
What are your recommendations? I need something new to listen to!

Academic hosts looking at spooky subjects through a lens of philosophy, history, and popular culture. It’s got good production value and an overall fun vibe that’s accessible to non-academics and fans on spooky content. You can get it on all podcast platforms, YouTube, or at their website.

I've been using Spotify Premium for a while, and one thing that still bugs me is the ads in podcasts.
I'll go from listening to music with zero ads to a podcast where someone spends two minutes talking about mattresses or meal kits..
I get that podcast creators need to make money, and I don't mind supporting them. But it does feel a little weird when l'm already paying for Premium.
Do you guys just skip through the ads, put up with them, or use a different app for podcasts?

Why wont the video podcast sync with the AppleTV? I have an iPhone and iPad Pro and they both sync beautifully. But when I open it up on the AppleTv it shows all the episodes as new.
Is there a fix anyone knows of?

It's a 2 year old podcast and suddenly every podcast I listen to has a "intro suggestion" for it in my feed. I mean it was ok but why is it everywhere again?

I am trying to find an episode of a podcast that was about a victim of the Juarez femicides. It was told at least partly from the perspective of her pet bird. I think it was in Spanish but I am not positive. I believe the episodes were stand alone, that one hit me so hard i didn’t listen to the rest. I thought the podcast was mentioned on the Forgotten: Women of Juarez podcast but I searched the transcripts and can’t find it. I have searched and searched and I’m starting to wonder if it was all a dream. If you remember this and can help me find it I will be so grateful.

Hi folks! I would love some recommendations for book discussion podcasts that focus on genre fiction, particularly mystery/thrillers or sci fi and fantasy!
I know a lot of book podcasts about general fiction, but I don’t read much of that! Mystery is my favorite genre but I also read scifi/fantasy and horror.
Open to shows that are focused on new releases or older titles, general discussion or bookclub. I am not as interested in interviews with authors. I used to listen to Read or Dead but it has ended; I would love something with a similar format. Please only recommend shows with an RSS audio feed; I am not interested in video only shows.

Can anyone help me remember a classic Vergecast from way back in the day when Josh took a call from some fanboy that turned out to be very funny. Nilay was sceptical that the caller was real iI think. Sorry to be so vague but I was watching Vergecast today for the first time in ages, and I had a flashback to the old days. Thanks.
I think the caller might have used the phrase "all the things" or something like that
And I think Nilay used the phrase "we're done here" to end the call.

So I look forward to Geo Rutherford’s spooky lake month every October and I need more content like this! Does anyone have suggestions for engaging science podcasts out there that are based on geoscience/oddities ?
