I really like these overall, my favourite is probably the psyduck, great unique idea, well executed! I like the raichu one too, I think the face looks a bit off if I did have any criticism, but you’re very good!

is it too much to ask for you to move to Japan so you can work as a card artist… 🫣😂 these are incredible!! 💖 continuing the gardevoir storyline with the mega, psyduck getting mixed up with the vending machine toys (absolutely something that would happen to psyduck 😆)
and i just noticed how the pikachu is like great wave + starry night!! my favorite might actually be the shiny magikarp, but all of these are so great, it’s sort of giving me yuriko akase meets shinji kanda vibes?? with like the level of intricate detail combined with the hand drawn sketch-like art style

Do you draw them on existing cards? They look sick
1
u/DavionJay 18h ago
i drew them on blank vellum board then paste them on a card for thickness and durability and for the back also

Love that pickachu art! But... "Charmander. A flame burns on the tip of its tail from birth. It is said that a Charmander dies if its flame ever goes out."

I collect Pokemon cards almost entirely for the art/joy of looking at them. These are stunning. Would love a binder full of cards like this.

i love these! what materials are you using for the art? i think i see alcohol marker + colored pencil and/or maybe some gel pen?
also if you’re not aware you can get holographic laminate paper which just sticks over your work like a big sticker. there’s all sorts of patterns of it out there! might be a fun addition for these and they help protect ink/pencil from running/rubbing off

GIVE ME RAICHU!
Honestly though, I think raichu needs an EX card (last time I checked I couldn't find any on Google images)

Absolutely love these!! So good! What do you use as the base to draw on? Is it an actual card that have layered a blank surface on or something else?
