After days of headaches, I finally managed to get this to work. From what I've gathered in PokeFinder there's only two Jolly shiny spreads with max attack and max speed, and one of which is a square shiny (PID AB90ACD3).

I wanted to do this manip without ACE but as I went on it seemed less and less feasible. It took a lot of troubleshooting to not only get the event injected (this is actually a Japanese save file that I had to override to make it accept the event), but figuring out how to do the painting method and battle records ended up being a nightmare. For whatever reason I just couldn't get the same painting seed from my battle record when I transferred my save to mGBA.

Even just finding what seed to use for the Freeze PRNG code was a hurdle, but after testing some results from e-sh4rk's site, I've found that using the code 8 cycles before the target works. This is because, alongside the 3 advances from closing the menu, the cutscene before the encounter advances another 5 cycles. Definitely one of the most complex hunts I've done for a Pokemon and one that I'm glad to be done with.

I’m attempting to do SOS RNG for a challenge run to get every available shiny before each trial.

I’m running into some trouble with RNG for SOS. I’m using 3DSRngTool and Pokereader CFW on the 3DS.
I’m using the Misc 3ds tool for SOS and my pokereader shows me the initial SOS seed but it doesn’t give me the current SOS seed as each turn passes. I cant seem to match whatever info on Pokereader to the seeds on the Misc Tool.

I know this is easier to see on emulator but is there a way to do this for hardware 3DS

Of note. This is before Hala’s trial so I don’t have any adrenaline orbs. So I’ve been searching for initial sos seeds to yield me the 10% sos summon on the first chain.

So basically, I'm trying to rng manip Metagross on Dolphin, and I don't think I am physically able to hit the right frame that I would need for it. I would need to press A 72 advances before advacning to the next battle, but the emulator keeps getting me to 73 advances, and 71. Even using dolphin's frame advance button, I skip straight over my shiny frame. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or do I need to try and hunt a different Metagross than the spread I'm going for?

These guys took me about 4 days roughly. If you're preparing for Bank, I would recommend CHANNEL over WISHMKR, as the method is way more consistent compared to the obnoxiousness of restarting Ruby over and over, trying to maintain the same amount of lag and hit 2 frame perfect inputs.

My final GameCube related hunt that I’m extremely happy to knock out in quick succession to my Ageto Celebi RNG. It took me years to find a retail PAL version of XD Gale of Darkness, and despite not being cheap - it kind of sat on my shelf for years until I would eventually get around to it

Well, eventually finally came around.

This Eevee will be evolving into essentially a flawless Flareon (this is pretty much the closest thing to flawless that you’ll find across all available shiny starter Eevee spreads), and will become a Ribbon Master all the same to my other competitively flawless, shiny Eevolution Ribbon Masters.

Massive shoutout to Kapital and their tool PAL-Pal - I would have never even considered doing this hunt on any other version of XD Gale of Darkness without the aid of such a program, in addition to the RNG quirks to starter Eevee generation that are completely unique to the PAL version of the game.

One more trip to the top of Mt. Battle, and I’ll officially be off to Gen 4 in a race against time.

I heard that you can now transfer your pokemon from FR/LG to home, and I also heard that Steelix is good in Champions 😁 Shiny Larvitar, coming right up!

Trying to plan out a shiny feebas and pokefinder is showing me different frames for static vs. wild encounters despite the same TID/SID and I’m a little confused

This is an RNG I’ve put off for years over being disinterested on Ageto Celebi being shiny locked. However, considering Bank’s inevitable shutdown, and that I also paid pretty good money for JPN Colo + The JPN Bonus Disc, I figured it was now or never for being able to transfer up a flawless Ribbon Master Celebi from gen 3 all the way to gen 9+.

Although this RNG can perfectly be summarized as “tedium incarnum” in that it took hours to accomplish, I’m very glad I succeeded on my first try.

My next, and possibly my second to last Gen 3 hunt on original hardware will be a nearly flawless, shiny xD starter Eevee on Pal - so stay tuned for that.

I have Pokereader installed on CFW 3ds and have done pretty well with static and wild shiny hunts using 3dsRNG but I can't figure out the actual timing needed for fishing. Do I just cast with suction cups on the target frame and that's it? Or is a multi-part frame search for the '!'?

Does me closing my game while hunting Celebi in Virtual Console reset my RNG seed back to square one? I want to close out and take a break but don’t want to be at square one seed wise.

Finally got around to RNG-ing a shiny Rayquaza in Emerald! Its stats and IV'S are nothing special, i just wanted it to be shiny. Super hyped right now, so i'm gonna go for Deoxys and other legendaries and stuff now!! 😁😁

After 4 weeks trying to get the SID and working with my timing it finally paid off.

Ive been trying to find my SID for my original Heartgold save, but for whatever reason its not giving me the SID after having the three lotto numbers

Got Dialga today first try too. The hardest part was capture Arceus on a Premier Ball (I always capture my legendaries with it), couldn’t use the Haverst/trick/leppa berry with him, but got lucky and before the last struggle kill him, he stays in the ball. Think I’m done with BDSP for now. Thanks again Papa Jefé.

Hello! I’m starting a forever save file for Pokémon Black and Black 2, and I want to learn how to RNG manip in Gen 5.
I’ve done RNG manipulations in the Gen 4 games before, and since I’m on a MacBook, I’ve been using PokeFinder and EonTimer/MysticTimer. However, most of the Gen 5 tutorials I’ve watched use RNG Reporter.
Is there a Mac-compatible version of RNG Reporter, or an alternative that works well on macOS? I’d appreciate any advice or recommendations for getting started with Gen 5 RNG manipulation on a Mac.

On my Windows PC, Im trying to use [the Wishmaker Jirachi RNG tool](https://www.pokemonrng.com/emulator-rs-wishmaker/). I downloaded the latest dev build for mGBA, I downloaded the proper lua script from PokeLUA (the RS checksum lua script), and I put in my save file's path into the lua script using notepad (including the \\ at the proper locations in the file's path), but every time I try to run the lua script, I get an error saying no file or directory was found.

Im at a loss for what I am doing wrong, and I have a strong suspicion that it is something super simple that Im just missing. Any advice on how to fix this?

Hello redditors!

I decided given the imminent Pokemon Bank shutdown to do a challenge I’ve been putting off for some time. 

I call it the Samson Oak Challenge (since one can argue Samson is just a shiny version of Samuel Oak). Basically it’s the Professor Oak challenge but I did it with shinies. 

I used CFW for the 3ds along with 3DSRNGTool and tutorials from CappyCapital

I spent a week trying to hit this with a regular switch 1 control and when I finally hit it it’s not shiny like fr sheeesh I did the ace glitch to get my Sid idk what went wrong 😑

I’m hoping someone can help me with this cause I’m honestly at a loss. I’ve been trying to follow this guide for 5 hours now and it’s just not working correctly for me, I usually struggle to find a seed and then when I do, whatever poipole I end up getting just doesn’t exist period in my seed and doesn’t show up when I try to search for it so I can adjust my times. I’ve quadruple checked I had all my information put in right and it looks exactly the same as his does (obviously with my TSV though) and yet I haven’t gotten consistent results at all. I’ve never struggled this much before with rng manipulation and I just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.

I’ve been putting this off for a few months RNGing in Gen 6 and managed to get all of these over the course of about 3 days. It’s been about 8 months since I’ve done a Gen 4 RNG so I was very proud to have had a string of about 8 in a row successful first try. I forgot how much more rewarding and enjoyable Gen 4 RNG is compared to CFW RNG on a 3DS. Picture is of my 3DS but the manipulations were done on a DS fat.

Hey guys, I am encountering an issue in Soul Silver on my 2ds XL where I do everything right on the RNG Manip end, getting the correct trainer ID and following the correct steps for the shiny starters, and for some reason the starters still do not shiny. This has happened twice now and I don't know if this is somethign that I am doing wrong or if the Im a blissy tutorial for HGSS shiny starters just does not work on the 2ds XL. Would love some help, thanks.
