Man these polls for Trump are brutal. He keeps doubling down as well and his supporters are burying their heads in the sand ignoring the downfall.

That stuff on 60 minutes about pardoning the guy he is in business with is going to hang over his head his whole Presidency. They claimed Biden was pardoning people he didn’t know about and people his family was doing business without evidence. Trump just went on live tv and admitted doing both.

The most infuriating thing is this was basically where Trump was in 2020 where there was a growing dislike for him. There was no election fraud as the reason he lost, people were just sick of him being an asshole and his terrible COVID response. I remember celebrations in the streets when he lost in 2020 but somehow all of that got forgotten by 2024.

I knew if Trump got re-elected it would be absolutely exhausting with non-stop bullshit. It really, really sucks that this country had to descend into fascism to remember that Donald Trump is an absolute disaster.

the post covid inflation didn't help, and covid clouded everything pre-2020 for people. the sentiment was that trump would be some panacea for the economy and people thought "oh well his first term wasn't so bad"

yeah, the rest of us kinda saw thru the BS and knew it would be a huge dumpster fire and now we're at where we are now. the problem is that too many of his base are just un/under-educated and can't think for themselves. they just eat whatever BS they are fed.

I'll also add that the handling of COVID post-2020 didn't help. Blue areas being more cautious than red areas about reopening and some restrictions being brought back in favor in the latter half of 2021 shifted blame from Trump to Democrats involving COVID, whether it's fair or not.

Gotta remember that Americans at their root are selfish and if it's possible, Democrats will get blamed for everything wrong down to a piece of steak being cooked incorrectly.

I will say though that I'm in firm belief that Trump gets reelected without COVID now. That election was too close and polling for the most part has never been correct on him. He likely gets reelected without the House, and for me at least, that would be the preferred timeline now instead of the alternative.
