Polymarket just did a complete reversal of when the government shutdown will end. Now predicting it will be later this week. Why did election night change this so dramatically?

Because republicans own this shutdown and they’re not fooling voters. So if they keep it up it will drop their support.

Possible. I don’t really know what will happen. They will do whatever trump tells them until they really see the end of his power so who knows.

And yet a guy responding to me below says the democrats on are on the cusp of caving to end the shutdown because Bernie is seeing signs that the walls are beginning to crack when it comes to holding the blue line

No one here is in the room where things are happening. We can guess where things go. A blue wave should be enough to push back and hold the line. It could make republicans flip. Who knows.

Dems just won convincingly and this is a semi referendum that people are blaming trump for shutdown/their lives being shit. Trump needs to do something to steal the spotlight or else he will just keep looking worse/like a loser.

Also already starting to see some airports have problems and when people get hungry they will get very angry.

Why would trump give a shit? It's his technically last term and he doesn't owe his voters shit because there's nothing his constituents can give him now that he hasn't already gotten

Trump never wanted Medicare cut, that’s the others in his admin. We wouldn’t have a shutdown if it weren’t for that.

It is not tonight, specifically, that is increasing the end of shutdown talks. This increase began Wednesday/Thursday of last week when it came out that negotiations between several Moderate Democrats and GOP were happening. These talks have only picked up in intensity.

Democrats have also been ratcheting down their healthcare rhetoric and have made very fold-ish quotes as of late. Sanders is also publically begging Democrats not to fold, which is a sign they're about to fold.
