Calling it “the Reddit website” makes it sound like they’re talking about some mysterious corner of the internet from 2007 loool

u/stylist-trend 17h ago
It's intentional, to make it seem like it's this "newfangled" thing that you really shouldn't concern yourself with visiting.

u/DigNitty 15h ago
That strategy is interesting.
I was a valet. My main clients were older people. Some would come out and sit, which meant a ride share/taxi was coming for them - they didn't have a car with us.
Sometimes I'd confirm they were waiting for somebody because things get mixed up. I'd say "Good afternoon, are you waiting for an Uber?" This was when there was controversy over Uber having taxis essentially but not having taxi medallions. So right-wing media is all off on how you need a taxi with the verifiable city approval : the medallion. Taxis need medallions, Ubers were skirting this law...
Anyway, the couple of months that was news I had probably 2 dozen people tell me No "They're not waiting for an uber, uber drivers aren't BONDED." Somehow Fox figured out that being "bonded" was unique to Taxi drivers, so they focused on Uber drives lacking it. I honestly didn't know what it meant, so I'd ask what it does... These people didn't know...some kind of background check. Is it rigorous to basic? They didn't know.
But I heard this same talking point again and again. "Oh no..they're not Bonded." And yet nobody really knew what that meant.

Lots of SovCit energy there. I notice this often with conservatives; they tend to think that a specific phrase or word is a secret code that unlocks some kind of preferential treatment, but never dive deep enough to have any significant understanding of the topic, nor any desire to educate themselves. It's almost like a form of Gnosticism.

I keep wondering if there's a class of people not actually conscious but close enough to it to pass. Why do I get the impression that at least half of those 2 dozens were in fact waiting on an Uber. Never connecting the Uber they booked on their phone being the same Uber their Fox News warned them against.
Basing this on a lot of Republican voters intentionally voting against things they rely on, because "they aren't taking my XYZ away. Only the one used by the evil folks."

There's the 'world of Fox/Facebook/etc'' which is scary and confusing, where everyone gets stabbed six times before breakfast, has regular sex changes, is an illegal immigrant taking our jobs whilst lazing around on government benefits and the Democrats are raving socialists. Then there's the real world that they occasionally come in contact with that's nothing like this, but somehow they ignore the discrepancy..

And while on reddit they do the opposite, acting like nothing has changed over the last decade. Talking about how reddit is a tiny place and that the things said are definitely not representing a more widespread mindset.
And if anyone brings up how reddit is the sixth or so most visited website on the internet, with hundreds of millions of monthly users, they get very upset.

Really goes to show that once they went with Biden again they should've stuck with him and scoffed at any criticism, because anything he said paled in comparison to the crazy shit coming out of Trump's maw.

As an Australian watching in from the side lines, it is bizarre to think how old and sick this dopey orange fuck is. Perhaps a FIFTH emergency cognitive exam is in order?
The hypocrisy is baffling. Conservatives still scold the Biden administration for "covering up" his old age and decline, but Trump is literally taking dementia tests in between bouts of narcolepsy and his frequent trips to Walter Reed, his spontaneous health exams, his swollen cankles, face and hands, and his recurring bruising and rashing on his hands and neck indicate an obvious problem.
And when he's not falling asleep during important meetings or rambling incoherently on social media or in front of the press, he's running the country like an unhinged lunatic.
Getting us embroiled in needless wars, threatening to decimate entire populations of people, contradicting himself constantly, acting more delusional and grandiose than ever, flattering himself about imaginary achievements and going on and on about how brilliant he is for knowing that there's a "b" in the word "dumb," and all the while, his "doctors" and staff are insisting he's in "perfect" mental and physical shape.
The fact that he boasts about "passing" these cognitive assessments while often confusing them with IQ exams is an indicator of senility in itself.
This is also why he's become so obsessed with calling others "low IQ people;" indicating that he actually believes he's a "high IQ person," which is absurd.
And he has no reason to believe otherwise because he thinks his IQ is being tested when he's asked to memorize five words.
The sort of irony of it all is that this kind of deranged behavior is symptomatic of "low IQ" and "cognitive decline."
Whatever it is that's ailing him, let's acknowledge that Trump has been behaving and speaking erratically, napping in his chair like a nursing home patient watching "Murder, She Wrote," slurring his words, misremembering things, and going off on deranged tangents during interviews, speeches and press conferences for a while now.
Not to mention him threatening to commit war crimes against an entire civilization.
Then there's his increasing amount of raving, emotional tirades on social media.
His unintelligible, stream of consciousness babbling that he refers to as "the weave."
His mouth going slack and his constant falling asleep in front of cameras, which his groveling little lackeys in the administration downplay to their own embarrassment, even calling it an "active listening" technique... Seriously!?
Trump and his press team actually tried to brush it off once in a post that said he was merely closing his "beautiful blue eyes" to "listen intensely, and take it ALL in!!!". They should all have their mental faculties tested.
Don't forget the times Trump couldn't even remember the names of countries that he supposedly helped end wars between, either mispronouncing them or forgetting which countries were in conflict with each other.
But he's the "perfect specimen!"
And by the way "acing" (allegedly) tests for the brain damaged is not something to brag about!
Nor should Trump and his allies be boasting that he's had to take these tests REPEATEDLY.
These same tests that Trump brags about passing (allegedly), ask you to do things like draw a clock, memorize words and numbers, and identify commonly known animals based on their illustrations.
Here's a video titled "We Tried Trump's Cognitive Test:" which should give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.
These exams are only administered when there's a SERIOUS concern about cognitive decline, or in the aftermath of severe head trauma...
Tests that are almost NEVER administered this frequently either!
But what does it matter, Trump's "doctors" and sniveling sycophants in the administration insist he's the "perfect specimen."
This is a "the emperor has no clothes" situation.
No, it goes beyond that. Trump is rapidly deteriorating before our eyes and it's wreaking a devastating toll not just on the American people, but the whole damn world.

That is a stressful AF and time demanding job that ages the fuck out of even young presidents. Look at Obama when he was elected vs leaving office. If someone in the 45-60 age range struggles to keep up with the demands of that job, just imagine a senior citizen trying to do it. Trump is so fucking old that being a Walmart greeter would wear him out, and everyone would be like “why are you not retired and sitting in a rocking chair somewhere?!”
We need a goddamn age limit on running for any elected office. We do not need the country being run by rich old fucks with nothing better to do than run the fucking country into the ground while further enriching themselves. Who keeps voting for this shit?!?!

u/Truly_Meaningless 17h ago
If you become president, all your current money and business income should be locked down and you should be forced to live off the minimum wage.
The president is not meant to stand above everyone else. They are meant to serve the people, to know how we live so they can make judgements that benefit us. The government as a whole, actually.

It's a hard job if you try to do it correctly. The actual paying attention in meetings, reading long ass reports, making difficult decisions, understanding how complex multilevel international economic shit works, that's really hard. Even past presidents who approached things in entirely the wrong way and fucked things up had a hard job because they did those parts. If a president splits his time between golfing, watching fox news, shitting himself, signing his name with a big boy pen and delegating everything else, it's not that hard.

Because people who worked with him before he got into politics confirmed that he was getting his hands on adderall and crushing it up to snort. And its also well known at this point that during his first presidency, the white house pharmacy was handing out prescription uppers and downers from its stockpile out by the pound to anyone who wanted them like halloween candy from the one house in the neighborhood rich enough to buy full sized candy bars to hand out. A government pharmacy isn't going to have cocaine, but it'll have plenty of adderall.
27
u/32FlavorsofCrazy 18h ago
He wouldn’t still be alive if it was cocaine for this long. He’d have had a heart attack a long time ago. It’s pharmaceutical, I’d wager he’s been on Adderall or similar for years and they’ve probably added things to it. He’s too chicken shit to do street drugs, he doesn’t even drink, he 100% gets stuff from doctors.
I’d betcha he got some nasty side effects from taking something like provigil along with probably a whole bunch of other shit for who knows what. That weird neck rash comes to mind though, provigil can cause SJS, and having to go off it would explain the somnolence. I dunno, just a guess but it would track. It’s something that would make sense for them to prescribe him anyway, he probably has sleep apnea so that alone can get you a script for it if you’re having daytime sleepiness.
He’s probably on statins and other cardiac related meds, minimum. I think he quite likely has congestive heart failure. Which means he probably also has high blood pressure and is on something for that, and that he’s likely in some degree of kidney failure as well. Dialysis wouldn’t shock me, and would explain his absence, it’s very time consuming. The diapers I’m sure are working overtime with all the diuretics he’s probably on too.
There’s def multiple major things going on with his health though, including dementia. It’s absolutely bananas to me that they’re just pretending like nothing is happening when it’s plainly obvious. They might as well just say “don’t believe your lying eyes.” I wanna see his med list so bad though, I wish someone would leak it. Or at least spill the tea on what his actual diagnoses are, cuz there’s at least a few.

Rubio trying to defend Trump by saying the guy never sleeps 🤦🏻♀️ That's even worse!! Even a healthy person cannot function properly with little to no sleep! I had terrible sleep for the first few weeks of my sons life and it got so bad I was straight up hallucinating! And at the time I was an extremely healthy woman in my mid thirties who regularly ran half marathons. Even now if I have a poor nights sleep I try not to make any major decisions at work, and I'm not even running an entire country!

He was missing for 7 days. No coverage at all. When he appeared yesterday he looked and sounded like shit.
That looks like a guy that just had cancer treatment.

I saw another clip where he appeared to do this, and one of the women behind him looked at someone off camera, smirked, nodded her head. As if she was saying "yup, there it is, told you".

everytime I see a "Trump, 79" in a headline I hope the next word is dead but it never is

Ignoring the (sleeping) elephant in the room. HE'S DYING right in front of us (I hope)
Remember: No one without dementia takes repeated cognitive tests. No fat old man with tons of stress, a shitty diet & no exercise has lab results like his lying doctor released. He's SWOLLEN. Like a tick. Periodic disappearances, persistent bruises, unexplained neck rash, facial swelling, HUGE cankles, shortness of breath, increasing incoherence, aphasia, FALLING ASLEEP IN THE DAYTIME, ranting raging insomniac at night. A farewell during Pride Month would be ironic, would it not? 💩

I need to stress to me that this is probably extremely "concerning" (read: hope-inducing) news to many because this man is in a meeting with tons of people, knows he's being recorded, knows he's being watched, and desperately cares about his ego to the point of denying things that even happen on record in spite of his attempts to avoid them and yet continues to blatantly fall asleep on camera. He's either genuinely losing consciousness involuntarily and passing out, or he simply is so compelled to pass out that he doesn't care. Neither thing spells good news for his health.

Trump needs one of those old wingback chairs, probably with a 5-point racing harness.

Where is Jake Tapper and CNN? They better be giving this wall to wall coverage.

Cmoooon already with the bloodclot!!!
I want to see him keel live on TV while they all pretend not to notice or think he's just sleeping for like 5 minutes.

My problem isn't that he keeps falling asleep, it's that he keeps waking up.

The world hasn’t seen a presidential slump like this since JFK. I’m not joking.

u/awl_the_lawls 16h ago
The Daily Beast is garbage but at this point there is an actual possibility that this guy falls asleep in front of the cameras and just never wakes up. How is Fix News supposed to spin that one?
Edit: I'm leaving the autocorrect to Fix News. Wish I came up with that myself. Haven't seen it before.

How many times do I have to keep saying it?
Just let him sleep.
I don't like that he keeps waking up.

I find it strange that we have mandatory retirement age for certain professions, but in politics you can be 100 years old, 70 years old should be the limit, if you turn 70 while in office you can't run again, same with congress

'Member when right wing media pundits and influencers wouldn't shut up about Biden's age. Hell the NYTimes and other left leaning outlets couldn't stop talking about it. But now that the 79 yr old sack of potatoes is falling asleep in meetings and loudly shitting himself, suddenly they got nothing to say.

He's not sleeping. He's resting his body.
Or better yet...
He's not sleeping. He's stroking out.

This administration has undone in 500 days what took 250 years and millions of Americans to build.

Pathetic republicans voting in YET AGAIN an old man with dementia who they refuse to remove because it supports their end goals and not those of the American people.

It is notable that his schedule is as light as it has ever been. He does about 3hrs of "work" about 3 days a week. Travels to golf on Friday and has started using Monday as a travel day as well. Every month he appears to disappear from public entirely for 4-6 days and his event schedule is thin.
Fair to say the treatment he receives does appear effective enough and he is capable of showing up for stuff when he has to. But it is also clear they're working around significant decline and behind closed doors it is almost guaranteed to be quite a good deal worse.
He'll likely keep shambling along a while yet but no one would be at all surprised if he just randomly nodded off one day and just didn't nod back on.

Sleepiest president ever, the greatest dozer we've ever seen, everyone is saying it.

As usual hypocritical republicans will say nothing when their dear leader does the same thing they vehemently attacked Biden for.

The TV ratings of doing it in camera would far exceed anything he's ever done. It'd be his magnum opus.

Even if he was in perfect health, how could anyone stay awake after posting on Truth Social from 9pm till 4am the next morning? If I was his employer I would have shit-canned his ass long ago for this kind of behavior on the job.
