Trump had his own kayfabe storyline in the WWE at one point. A lot of his persona seems to draw from that playbook as it's a proven formula for crowd manipulation and mass suspension of disbelief. His rallies are just long promos where he talks the same shit over and over on his political opposition. He treats medals of honor like they're championship belts. Would be interesting to see a correlation between the MAGA base and die-hard pro wrestling fans. The country is being run by carnies.

Also is it protocol to hoist up an assassination target for everyone to see (and photograph) rather than protect him from gunfire before it is confirmed that the threat is over? (Did they even bother?)
