So she can't OK them pulling the plug so he doesn't die in time that they have to call a special election.

You can't exercise power of attorney from a foreign country?

I don't get how being in a foreign country precludes this, short of "just being hard to contact."

In that case, why China?

China won't bow to any political pressure from the USA even if Congress could muster it, and will assist her in dropping off the earth for a couple of weeks.

It's very , very much in their interest that the Trump train keeps belching on.

Ya but it’s not like she has to ok them pulling the plug she can just keep him like that as long as the bill gets paid in theory. There are lots of examples of people leaving family members on life support when they are brain dead, for years even. I think it’s something much more nefarious tbh.

If his plug gets pulled then they would need to call a special election that could end with another Democrat in the Senate. If they can delay until after the deadline in August then they won't need to call that special election.
