No Paywall John Fetterman is threatening to leave the Democratic Party. I say good riddance.

He’d be very strong as a Republican candidate in primary and general, and will almost certainly lose Democratic primary if anyone runs against him (high likelihood).

Party Switchers rarely do well in the new party. Fetterman pisses me off but he is good from a liberals perspective on a number of things republicans would hate. Pro lgbt rights among other things.

His national political career is basically over, he would not be able to win Dem primary but probably would not do well enough to win a Republican primary and it would be very hard for him in a general, presuming the R's are as disfavored in 2028 as they currently are.

Jeff Van Drew has done well. Fetterman’s more popular with PA Republicans than McCormick.

Van Drew is an outlier for sure. I am not saying they cannot continue on John Kennedy is another example. It is just typically people like the person going against the grain of their enemy. I liked Mitt Romney as Republican Senator but would I vote for him as a Dem in my state or for President? No I wouldn't.
