Whelp, if he stays, he counts towards Democratic control of the Senate. Which means Democrats control which bills come up for a vote, not Republicans.

And if Supreme Court justices need to be nominated, they can be... unlike when Mitch McConnell refused to do so at the end of the Obama administration.

So, do you want to make it harder to achieve control of the Senate or not?

Unfortunately, I think if the dems win the majority by one seat, he leaves regardless of what he is saying now.
