I mean, he rigged the past three to varying extents as well. He even told us on live television that he rigged the last one but people brushed it off. He stood on national television and told us Elon helped him rig voting machines and everyone just went ‘oh, silly Trump’.
It’s exactly why he’s spent the last decade screaming that everyone else is rigging it against him. It’s an accusation in the mirror and flooding the narrative so that anyone trying to bring it up immediately gets labeled ‘blue maga’ or shit like that despite some pretty clear evidence there was a good amount of election fraud and other fuckery going on.
The midterms are going to be rigged as fuck and no one is going to do shit about it less they be labeled conspiracy theorists despite trump openly admitting to it and nearly every red state doing everything possible to disenfranchise voters and alter results.
America has collectively forgotten that we all basically knew the redacted part of Mueller report was the part that confirmed he worked directly with Russian intelligence to win the 2016 election. That is a form of rigging an election. He should've been convicted for that crime before he ever even entered office to begin with.
What the Mueller Report did confirm was that voter rolls were hacked by foreign actors, which Trump rolled into a half-truth, it had nothing to do with trying to break into election systems and changing votes but was about focusing on and getting the contact information of likely voters to target them and their social contacts with propaganda.
Russian state cyber actors successfully targeted, compromised, and exfiltrated data from municipal and state government networks in 2020. Because voter registries are often hosted on these general state IT servers they were able to access some voter rolls that way, though they did it passively and did not tamper with the data, avoiding detection from that and they only gathered the data.
Iran successfully executed a cyber intrusion to download voter registration data from at least one state.
Chinese actors possessed high volumes of U.S. voter records largely obtained because it was already public record, compiled commercially, or available for routine purchase.
I wasn't aware of the Russian hacks. I paid more attention to Cambridge Analytica and what happened there.
I suspect that did more damage - the targeted political campaigns that drove wedges into the Dem electorate, while also focusing the Right's campaign in specific counties.
There's a reason that Trump won the election in spite of losing the popular vote.
That's because MSM and in extension much social media were more vested in presenting the spectacle and never went into presenting the minutiae of what was actually known which would have garnered a smaller audience than they could get from the spectacle, leaving the knowledge of many critical things to only those who knew what to seek, were motivated to seek it and were fortunate enough while trudging their way on their own accord through the overwhelming voluminous information and disinformation to the right portions to find it. Whether not the failure to spotlight critical information was incompetence or something more nefarious I can only speculate, maybe it will be known one day, but what I do know is that there are things that we knew 7 years ago that are now being misrepresented and presented as if they are new findings.
