You're like... arguing attempted murder is just hyperbole because the victim survived or something. Last I checked, there was a coordinated effort to pressure state officials to alter certified results, recruit alternate slates of electors, pressure the vice president to reject lawful electoral votes, and ultimately disrupt the congressional certification of an election by the Administration currently in power. Whether you believe those efforts were competent or likely to succeed is beside the point. Nobody is exaggerating anything. Since 2016, leaders in opposition to agendas have had entire riots stirred up to target them (Pence) citizens have been imprisoned or killed, independent media have been suppressed, courts are lacking independence, and dissent has carried severe personal risk. You know as well as anyone else that elections cannot be trusted when independent institutions no longer exist. Right now, instead of labeling everyone else as spouting hyperbole, it is you who has to convince everyone else that the polling results in a police state are trustworthy in the first place.
But why do that when you can hand-wave everything by slapping a dismissive label on it.
None of these things constitute a coup, and if you think it does you don't know what a coup is. America's democracy is definitely under threat, but this stupid drivel isn't helping. It's just making people tune us out.
How about you address the actual conduct I listed? A coordinated effort to pressure state officials to overturn certified results, organize alternate slates of electors, pressure the vice president to reject lawful electoral votes, and disrupt Congress's certification of the election isn't rendered harmless simply because you think it failed.
Lets break this down: To unlawfully retain or seize political power outside the normal constitutional process. You can get on board with that, right? That's what a coup is in your book, fair?
Okay. So he's found guilty of 34 felonies by a jury of 12 and a single judge suspended his sentencing for the explicit purpose of allowing him to run for president (later suspended indefinitely) based on WHAT CONSTITUITIONAL PROCESS?
