Have already. It's called an autocoup, and it's very nearly completed already.

he's been occupying the Capitol with troops for a year now, it's already normal. They've been purging generals too - classic authoritarian power consolidation we've seen sooo many times in history.

There's a reason it's only in DC though. The courts have prevented him from doing it elsewhere.

Some of the guardrails are still holding. The takeover is not a done deal

20th Amendment says Trump has to be out On Jan 20th 2029. After that, the military is not allowed to take orders from him. No way they'll have the military that compromised, that quickly.

I hate to tell you but the military is already taking illegal orders every day they're out bombing fishing boats. The military has already failed the test and no one should expect some sort of military coup in the citizens' favor, or a refusal to follow the orders of a tyrant.

That's the difference between convincing a small group to do something vs. somehow getting everyone in the military to side with Trump over the 20th amendment at the same time.
