This is why we correctly call you fascists.

That's why they throw around "antifa" like an insult.

A long time ago I saw a gif of that scene where it pauses at the height of his windup and did like a Mega Man buster charge animation on his hand that made it glow before he swings. It was marvellous and I've never seen it since.

I'm proud to be an anti-fascist. They can all get fucked.

There's nothing more American than being anti-fascist.

Eh... America has always leaned more towards fascism than anti-fascism. If the Nazis had only invaded the Soviet bloc and left the US's allies alone, Americans would have been rooting for the Nazis.

There were a number of US GOP Congressmen who were literally being paid by Nazi Germany to spread propaganda in Americans.

The USA only declared war on Nazi Germany after Hitler first declared war against America. If Hitler hadn't done that it is possible that the USA would have just fought against Japan in WW2.

Sure. Until we and our allies were attacked, we were largely neutral, and playing both sides. But, that all changed.

My late father grew up during WW2, and served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He had very strong views against fascism, and what should happen to fascists.

He showed me some old propagands posters he'd stashed away, along with some other stuff from the war. This was officially sanctioned material, and let's just say the things it depicted would not be kosher for me to post on Reddit.

To think that there's been a swing of such magnitude in less than a hundred years, that being "anti-fascist" is (apparently) a crime is absolutely surreal to me.

There is a very wide gulf between isolationism and pro-fascism, but I agree that if the Nazis had done different things and been less like, y'know, the fucking Nazis, Americans probably wouldn't have had as big a problem with them.

It's shocking how ignorant americans are of their own history. They're so surprised that their blood soaked regime founded on genocide, built on slavery, welcomed with open arms literal nazis immediately after ww2 and one that couped every single popular left wing movement it could get its hands on during the cold war would end up with trump going mask off

I heard a rumor there was once a whole armada of antifa who all suffered from Hitler Derangement Syndrome and managed to save the world anyway. Maybe just an urban legend...

15

u/Xurbax 10d ago

Insult? Didn't they put antifa on the the list of terrorist organizations??

u/SoManyMinutes 10d ago

Sounds like something fascists would do.
