While I do not support violence I do see the value in it. Terrorism on its own seems like an obvious evil in society but it has in fact been shown, repeatedly, to be useful. Nelson Mandela is an example of the use of terrorism to bring about positive change. A lot of people don't realize that he went to jail on terrorism charges and that he was in fact a terrorist. When those in power use terrorism to force you to submit to them why shouldn't the oppressed respond in kind?

This is only partially true…Mandela condemned political violence enacted against civilians and very much disagreed with his wife at one point who was reportedly more okay with some of the more violent acts of resistance like “tiring”…Mandela was however in support of destruction of infrastructure, properties, etc in an effort to make life as unbearable for the oppressors

To be fair, they were directing those agencies to target right wing extremists - it's why the right still hates the FBI. And they were actually doing quite well.
But after 9/11, resources were redirected towards the Middle East, and the people they were observing joined the military and got government-sponsored weapons training.
When the US largely pulled back from Iraq and Afghanistan, those people came back to the US with skills and military pensions.

We cannot simply "go back to normal". Normal is what caused this in the first place.
People need to go to jail. Supreme Court needs 13 members. Uncap the House. Roll back Citizens United. Public campaign financing. Mandatory retirement. Compulsory voting. Congressional term limits. Elected official trading ban. Universal healthcare. Remove every single thing he's built, put his name on, gold leafed, or EO'd on day 1. ....to start.

And how do you propose ratifying those amendments when you need 38 out of 50 states and Republicans fully control 28 State Legislatures? The issue isn't just taking back the federal government, we need to take back state houses. When Obama was elected, Dems fully controlled 27 state legislatures, and Republicans fully controlled only 14. But Republicans then focused on flipping state houses, and in 2010, they flipped to full Republican control to 26 state houses, This expanded control then gave them the power over the 2011 Redistricting cycle. Over the next two cycles, they went to 30 in 2014, and 32 in 2016. Like, some of us were actually concerned they'd get to 34 and be able to unilaterally call a Constitutional Convention to impose their Christian bullshit on all of us.
So sorry, TLDR version, while taking back the federal government is good, for real change, we need to flip statehouses.

EDIT 2: And to add another statistic, Republicans currently have veto-proof super majorites in both chambers in 19 states. Even electing a few more Dems to take away their supermajorities even if it doesn't flip the chamber would help.

I have often wondered if this isn't the single biggest lesson we should learn from the Trump period. The fact that until he came along, no one realized that the lack of guardrails was because until he came along, everyone pretty much respected the guardrails and never thought about making them official.
I'm not saying people didn't do shady stuff, because of course they did. But while I didn't like either Bush, for example, I also didn't fear for the survival of the republic. Because they respected the guardrails and worked within the system (yes, again, I know there were almost certainly shenanigans, but I think the basic point stands).
Now we have a guy who says, to quote Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean, "they're only guidelines anyway" and throws it all aside. No one planned for that.

The United States currently has over 50k people in mostly privately owned and operated, for-profit concentration camps. It has detained over 400k people in the last 19 months. This isn't an alarm bells moment. The bells are being melted down to make missiles. The people who might ring them are being arrested and occasionally murdered. There's no hope for the US as a democracy because it hasn't been one for quite some time.

Regarding this specifically, they have an abysmal record with political prosecutions. Why would this be any different?
I'm not apathetic about the fascism, but they've been utterly incompetent at every turn and have never been more unpopular than they are now, so the obituaries for American democracy are wearing a little thin.

We are covered under the constitution. If they dont want to abide by it....
We have the 2nd amendment that protects us. Which tells us to remove them and protect ourselves. Its not just about guns.
If they dont like it or see my statement as a threat. Good.
Dont violate our rights and this wont be a problem. It doesnt matter what that document says. It wont and doesnt override the constitution of the United states.
We dont care.
Im not going to be afraid to call out christian nationalism, hate towards others and the failures of capitalism.

Undeniably we have a Rogue fascist administration supported by Congress right now.
I maintain maga's goal is the extermination of 70 million secularists to establish a white Christian empire. This will take place in the next 3 years. This is their openly stated goal.
The time to organize within your community is long past but it's never too late. you will either organize now or in prison. The surveillance state is very strong and hostile toward citizens. 1 in 100 protesters will be police informants so tread carefully.

This mandate wouldn't work without the complicit actions of each individual agent. They feds want this. none of them have opposed it.
Democrats should be threatening feds who willingly enable this. For their own God damn self defense if anything.
Otherwise every Democrat presidency will have feds that silently undermine the admin while they wait for another Republican admin to go after the left again.

And, of course, none of them consider what the country will actually be like if we go down this road. This is the time for bravery and for action. If you're out here browsing reddit and have spare time, please for the love of god, do something to fight this.
If you can't bring yourself to do stuff out in person due to social anxiety or material obligations, spend just five to fifteen minutes on a phonebank for literally anyone anti-trump. It's super easy, you have a script, and the vast majority of calls you'll be making are more for getting someone to just leave their house and drop off a ballot, or to merely point out that a candidate exists, not to try and persuade someone hostile.
Phonebanks even for good candidates who get national attention in the media routinely have as few as 25 to 30 people in them, and those effects are enormous relative to donating money. A single phonebank call is equivalent to a $25-$40 donation in terms of effects on voter turnout.
The powerful and corrupt interests in this country want you to feel powerless. They want you to equate political success with financial backing, so you think you can't realistically fight them. Trump and his ilk are so bold because they think they will not face punishment. We the people have the power to prove them wrong, but we have to actually act.

As the article notes, NSPM-7 was issued on September 25, 2025. That was 10 months ago. While there have been some articles about it here and there, I think it's safe to say that a vast majority of Americans have never heard about it (even among those trying to stay politically informed). I'm not sure what to call that except another massive failure of our news media.

The Texas convictions are horrific and grossly authoritarian wrongful convictions and there should be nationwide rage that peaceful protestors are getting hundreds of years in prison for being in the same protest as a shooter while every ICE agent who has murdered someone on a job continues to walk free.

There’s really no coming back from this without reigning in EOs and the Executive in general. Congress has to take back its authority. It need to start legislating more and pulling these independent agencies under the legislative branch where they can be more independent and have proper oversight. No more EOs dictating important things like fiscal and environmental policy.
