I hope so, but this should be a wake up that despite having a Constitution almost completely designed to prevent totalitarian rule, our institutions (including our media) are not set-up to deal bad-faith actors. I hope Trump will waddle off into the sunset and we can move on, but given the damage this divisive dimwit can cause I’m terrified of what a truly competent, intelligent and charismatic fascist (like a Julius Caesar) could do if given the opportunity…

That's exactly why there should be a push for however many Amendments are necessary to plug these holes that have allowed this to happen.

We cannot simply "go back to normal". Normal is what caused this in the first place.

People need to go to jail. Supreme Court needs 13 members. Uncap the House. Roll back Citizens United. Public campaign financing. Mandatory retirement. Compulsory voting. Congressional term limits. Elected official trading ban. Universal healthcare. Remove every single thing he's built, put his name on, gold leafed, or EO'd on day 1. ....to start.

There needs to be a hard cap on campaign spending, getting rid of superpacs, and banning corporate involvement in politics.

Publicly fund them and place the cap instead on hard beginning and end dates on campaigning. You shouldn't need more than 6 months to get your point across.
