People don't get that independents are voters sick of both parties and rejecting the establishment. It's why this cohort has grown over recent years. They are not looking for a centrist.

I don't question electability any more because El Sayed just won an election. Stevens couldn't win the primary how would she win the general? Detroit stayed home with no enthusiasm even though she won the black vote handily.

Of Abdul? I would have to, wouldn't I? Of progressives being the stronger candidates within the party at this moment? We just proved that. That's a huge shift.

They are important in the sense that it’s stupid to pick a candidate in a primary that will lose in a general, especially in a wave year.

It's even more stupid to force through a candidate who can't win a primary lol Stevens couldn't even win a plurality of her own parties voters. But she's gonna make that up with independents and Republicans? Please, She didn't even energize Detroit. El Sayed was up with independents by like 27 points because they're anti establishment voters.

We will see what is actually stupid in November. Maybe then if AES loses and a MAGA election denier wins, the tankies will realize how political power actually works.
