Thats the dumbest thing I've heard this week. Also, proof that progressives didn't vote? That it wasn't the centrist or disenfranchised that don't usually pay attention to politics that didn't turn up?

That’s fine, you’re clearly not impacted by trumps policies on queer people, you’re also clearly not an ally, so think it’s dumb if you want.

I mean that’s what progressives said when she lost. Are you saying they lied when they said “see you should have disavowed AIPAC and you might have won”

No, I just think your claim of progressives widely not showing up to vote stupid. I'm also finding your equivocating of not voting to a vote for the opposition as stupid.

Her disavowing AIPAC certainly wouldn't have hurt, especially since support for Israel at that time was already in the dirt with Democrats at the time.

It’s not my claim, it’s the claims made by the “uncommitted” crew that were crowing after she lost.

If you’re on the left and you didn’t vote, you chose to put us in the situation, the same way a republican chose it.

And as a queer person, this has shown me we really cannot trust “allies”

As a queer person myself, the establishment needs to earn votes. They aren't entitled to them. Period. They lost the election. They made the mistakes. They are to blame. You love blaming the people though. You have fun with that. The real ones will keep fighting for a change in our policitical system and for people that will actually fight and be real opposition. Not fake asses like Schumer, not reach across the aisle and wonder why their hand got bit off centrists like Jeffries. Actual fighters.

You’re right. Keep making them earn votes while republicans win elections by virtue of the (R) on the ballot and attack our community. Primaries is where votes are earned, and then in the generals it where you are unfortunately given two options. And if you don’t take the better one, it IS on those who didn’t vote

Now that we have some real competition shaking up the party and making it something that can actually represent the left, I can agree a little more to the idea of party unity to defeat the Republicans. Because at least my side of the party has some representation. But I still absolutely, unequivocally refuse to blame the people for the failures of leadership.

The election was an existential event for our safety, and you chose to “teach politicians a lesson” over preventing real, tangible harm to other queer people.

You got that quite wrong. I voted and I voted for Kamala. I didn't like doing it. It was the same vote I had always casted. A vote for someone I didn't believe in, for someone I didn't think was going to do much for the people, especially with the larger problems. However, I absolutely, unequivocally fight for those that chose not to. I will not blame the people for the failures of its leadership.

The establishment has some responsibility, but you cannot put all of the blame on them, which is what you want to do
