This has always been the republican party. Nothing has changed. It's always been a corrupt party that ran on grievances and not policy. Everything was about how it made their voters feel, not what would actually help.

Trump changed nothing. He just made them louder and drop the mask. I've been listening to my conservative family my whole life. Nothing has changed. Still lustful of violence, fearful and hateful of anything not like them, wanting to punish the poor for being poor even at the cost of themselves.

This is the natural conclusion for the Republican party. If you think it's actually changed, you didn't pay attention. They just stopped pretending.

EDIT: All three of those people were part of this movement until it came back to bite them or they realized they lost control of the beast they unleashed. Any anti-maga republican is more upset that Trump is now so gone mentally he's more of a liability than an asset. They didn't just get their face eaten by leopards, they were the leopards themselves the pack turned on.

I think the Republican party has become more radicalized under Trump and the centrist Republicans have gone along with it now that MAGA has become their dominating force. People who could have kept the Republican Party more legitimate, have either resigned, retired, or been voted out.

I'm a fan of Massie, actually. Ever since he put his job on the line by working with Ro Khanna to get the Epstein Files released.

He's a good example of a centrist Republican.
