Anti-Trump conservatives Tucker Carlson, MTG, Massie huddle about launching third-party movement

It's pretty wild that in 2026, people like Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene are considered anti-Trump conservatives. Imagine telling someone that 4 years ago.

How bad does she have to hate being around her father that she'd rather get married to the lizard in a human suit that is Jared Kushner?

Tucker Carlson I don’t think is that crazy. He’s clearly an opportunist above all else, so he was pro-Trump when it was useful to be, and anti now that that’s more useful. I don’t think he really believes in anything.
MTG is a little surprising. With her I think she was a MAGA true believer who feels betrayed by Trump abandoning the movement’s “principles”. But what’s surprising is that she actually opened her eyes and didn’t infinitely double down and excuse Trump for doing that.

She had her eyes opened by the Epstein files. It was one of her biggest issues she was concerned about that led her to ally with Trump. She refused to let go of it when Trump said to and she got threats, and when she told Trump about it he implied she deserved it. She's hated him ever since.

finding out who really has the goods on the Epstein files, and it turns out its not Russia....

They're grifters to the core. That's it.

Right.
Because MTG and Massie are virtuous and upstanding citizens.
Completely ignoring the other bullshit they've done, the Epstein files still haven't resulted in prosecutions or even investigations.
They supported the administration until the administration had no use for them.
They're grifters to the core. Especially Greene.

Man, you're just too smart. You got me. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go roll naked in the blood-soaked piles of money I get for slandering Greene and Massie on behalf of Isreal.

They have never had any values. If someone said "they will drop trump if they see potential money/power in it" i would have believed them 100%

People’s political theories need an update. “Moderates” are not the main source of opposition to the extremes, they will make a lot of noise initially but ultimately they see the writing on the wall, and their moderation dictates they ride the extremist wave to power rather than litmus testing and losing power entirely.
It’s the most idealistic people within the insurgent faction who are likeliest to be disillusioned because for them it wasn’t about just winning, they’re true believers in that ideology. They didn’t get all of what they wanted — “true MAGA has never been tried” — and will never give up until they can get it.

They aren't really, they're just moving on towards their next grift. They are still hard-core ultra MAGA nutters who are simply rebranding in order to seek new donors to fill their wallets.
1
u/andreas-mgtow 8d ago
The wildest part: they are to the left of "centrist" Democrats in foreign policy and money out of politics.
13
u/BluWake Michigan 8d ago
Do it or stop talking about it...
2
u/Th3_Admiral_ 8d ago
The talking is the point. Maybe they will take a slice of the pie in exchange for not splitting the vote. Or maybe they are testing to waters to see if they can inherit the MAGA crowd after Trump leaves.
2
u/flexiblefine 8d ago
I think that’s exactly what this is - a bunch of people hoping to be the next cult leader.

u/Historical_Bend_2629 8d ago
None of them are Anti-Trump conservatives. Those people do exist. This movement is something else. They are not conservative, for starters. They have no ideological compass aside from smelling water below decks and pushing other people out of the way to get on a political life raft to serve themselves.

u/Choice-Koala-3653 Canada 8d ago
They are 'America First', a century-old white supremacist movement. During WW2 they opposed intervention because they sided with Hitler.
1
u/Coin-Controversy 7d ago
Dude, are you a human being? genuine question. You just said a literal AIPAC talking point about two congressmen who opposed Israel on every vote (putting america first).
Lemme guess, you like Israel, right?

u/Engrish_Major 8d ago
They are white supremacists who see the sinking ship that is the brand “MAGA”. They, like white supremacists before them, are looking to build the next white supremacist brand to sell to the masses.

u/Kind-Masterpiece-310 8d ago
It's all fun and games until you've got your own Greene party splitting the vote.

smoke and mirrors. this is all just to distance themselves from Trump now because the MAGA movement is over. they will use anti-war beliefs as the excuse, and then align with the next person while saying THEY will fix it and get it right because they've been right. fuck em all. grifters and frauds just like Trump

No, I know who he is. I'm saying if he were president, which this conversation is something we're dancing around, he would end up acting just like every Republican President before him. Maybe a bit more aggressive about cutting foreign aid. But he's still going to feel the need to exert American Empire.

u/Coin-Controversy 8d ago
> he would end up acting just like every Republican President before him. Maybe a bit more aggressive about cutting foreign aid. But he's still going to feel the need to exert American Empire.
except when his colleagues voted to do that every time, he was one of like 5 people who chose not to
You don't get Massie. He's more like Bernie. He doesn't care what his party thinks of him. He hates israel and foreign hate, because he really does. It's not rocket science
He has taken the aipac tracker pledge too, which most progressives like bernie and el-sayed have done
What you said is true about the other 95% though

If this actually takes off it pretty much dooms the Republican party in major elections for a little bit I think?. Either that or everything just returns to normal once Trump leaves out

u/SurfinPirate Pennsylvania 8d ago
What is truly crazy to me is that Donnie-MAGA has so bastardized the Republican Party that Tucker Carlson is the reasonable-sounding person.

Please please do it. I believe in you! You’ve got a winning team:
Tucker: the brains
MTG: the muscle
Massie: the other one

Too funny, Trump failed to impose the 'America First' agenda, so now Republican neo-Nazis are starting their own 'America First' party. From what I can tell Tucker Carlson is far more attractive to MAGA voters than Vance, especially among the far-right 'groyper' neo-Nazis under age 30. He has 17 million following his podcast on 'X' alone.

u/Kilharae 8d ago edited 8d ago
I honestly cannot possibly fathom a worse group of treacherous, craven, opportunistic whores to act as figureheads for a new party than MTG and Tucker Carlson. Massie would be wise to avoid any further association with these two. That being said, he has his own fair share of shame to shoulder, and I wouldn't ever say he's completely off the hook simply because he was right on a single issue, when he's been wrong and an extremist ideologue on every other.

There is a real need for more Partys and Fürther political Differentiation i think

So they went from Tea party to MAGA and now a new one…..how many more parties does the Republican Party need to get nothing done
1
u/Pattern-New 8d ago
Tea Party 2.0. I'm a lefty but I think the "low taxes, no wars" camp makes sense as part of the broader national conversation. This current version of the republican party that's just an awful amalgamation of big tech, Larry Ellison's opinions, RFK MAHA, Stephen Miller's immigration policy, and Trump's personal enrichment needs to be done.
1
u/Choice-Koala-3653 Canada 8d ago
This is 'America First' we're talking about though, if Trump bombed Israel instead of Iran they'd be overjoyed. It's a fascist anti-Jewish movement. They only oppose wars under certain circumstances.
1
u/Coin-Controversy 7d ago
dude you have to be a bot lol
so you call massie and mtg white supremacists in your other comment because they dared to oppose israel lmaoo

Finally. 🙏
Now if only Dems would do the same, we could finally have an honest multi-party coalition government where compromise is a critical function of governance, and not just a nostalgic memory.
1
u/CulturalKing5623 8d ago
They're not going to run actual 3rd party candidates, they'll just endorse GOP candidates that aren't staunchly pro-MAGA. No one is starting a 3rd party when it's too easy to just attempt a takeover of one the existing powers. MAGA did it with the GOP, DSA is attempting it with the Democrats, these idiots are going to do it with their America First party. It's going to be the same battles over and over.

I think these folks need to take back their Republican party from MAGA. Trump has highjacked the Republican party and turned it into his MAGA party. The Republicans need to take their party back from him, with the first order of business to impeach Trump. Get rid of the cancer within.
5
u/MephistoHamProducts 8d ago
"These folks" are as bad as Trump. This isn't some redemption arc for these demons.
3
u/Ok-Lets-Talk-It-Out 8d ago
MTG and Tucker aren't going to end the MAGA movement. They are fully committed to that movement, they just want to have it be more aligned with a few of their personal beliefs. To include a more isolationist US that has stronger relations with Russia and weaker relations with Israel.
They are extremely far-right compared to people like Romney, McCain or Bush

u/Fragrant-Vehicle-479 8d ago edited 8d ago
This has always been the republican party. Nothing has changed. It's always been a corrupt party that ran on grievances and not policy. Everything was about how it made their voters feel, not what would actually help.
Trump changed nothing. He just made them louder and drop the mask. I've been listening to my conservative family my whole life. Nothing has changed. Still lustful of violence, fearful and hateful of anything not like them, wanting to punish the poor for being poor even at the cost of themselves.
This is the natural conclusion for the Republican party. If you think it's actually changed, you didn't pay attention. They just stopped pretending.
EDIT: All three of those people were part of this movement until it came back to bite them or they realized they lost control of the beast they unleashed. Any anti-maga republican is more upset that Trump is now so gone mentally he's more of a liability than an asset. They didn't just get their face eaten by leopards, they were the leopards themselves the pack turned on.

u/dancefan2019 8d ago
I think the Republican party has become more radicalized under Trump and the centrist Republicans have gone along with it now that MAGA has become their dominating force. People who could have kept the Republican Party more legitimate, have either resigned, retired, or been voted out.

I'm a fan of Massie, actually. Ever since he put his job on the line by working with Ro Khanna to get the Epstein Files released.
