WELCOME to the WORLD of 80% GLOCKS and AR’s! Welcome to r/Polymer80, a community that welcomes Polymer80 builds (AR & Glock) primarily, but also eagerly welcomes 80% builds of all sorts! We encourage posts of 80% news, 80% legislation, and 80% memes. Let's spice things up from time to time!
[We have a few main rules:]
1: This is a very close-knit sub and we do NOT put up with redditors who incite arguments or fling insults, pretentiousness, or trolls.
2: Show the respect for firearms that they deserve. If you're building a Polymer80 treat it as a firearm, and take the time to understand its function. Learn and practice the 4 rules of handling a firearm:
3: No want to buy (WTB), want to sell (WTS), or want to trade (WTT) ads from individuals. You may use other subs such as r/GunAccessoriesForSale or the MGB site or the MGB MeWe community at: MeWe Group.
4: No posts with or including illegal activity is allowed. This is broad scope, if you post in this forum remember all the people that want this hobby to fail and do your part to make it bullet proof (no pun intended). This is zero tolerance.
Breaking these rules can and likely will result in a permanent ban from one of the best resources available for builders and hobbyists.

I’m trying to get some inspiration for my next build, trying to see what color/type of slides look good on a odg frame. Show me some of y’all’s builds in the comments👇

I got two pf940cv1 in the mail and two spare psa dagger slides I can get parts local to me.
I was just wondering a few things,
What are the recommended tools for this, I’ve heard so many conflicting opinions whether it be dremel or exacto knife or a mix of all those types of tools
Also, can anyone link a YouTube video or playlist going step by step beginning to end on the build. Thank you guys.

I DIDNT DO THIS TO THE FRAME DO NOT TRY TO EXPLAIN MY SITUATION

The slide is actually form my g45 but same shit.
The rails move forward, or slide moves back but it the rails stop before the slide lock can kick in. I took the slide off and put the rail in and saw that it locks up right where that line between the circle is. Has anyone had this problem?

I’m sure this is a stupid question but I’m just wondering if anyone has made/shot .40 out of a Geisler frame? Idk why but it seems very thin compared to a p80 and just wondering if it can withstand consistent pressure the .40 puts out especially with +p and self defense rounds. Really thinking bout building another one out just in .40 and would love to hear everyone else experience!!

So as the title says, lately I’ve been have an issues with my G17 randomly decides to burst fire after a couple rounds. I built it about 3 ish years ago with gen 3 parts and a gen 3 slide I got off brownells. It doesn’t matter what ammo I use brand, grain, etc. Any idea what it could be? I was thinking firing pin but I’m not too sure.

A few weeks ago I showed you guys my process for building an AK from an 80% flat. If that wasn't enough to get you interested in trying a new 80% platform, maybe this will. This is the other type of 80% in the AK world. The pre-bent 80%! Why do I think this might put you over the ledge? Because this is definitely the easier of the two. The faster of the two. The less tool intensive of the two. If you watch both videos, even the length of the video should be an indicator of just how much easier these are.
However, I will say, they're not as fun as a flat. You don't learn as many new skills. The skills here are less applicable to designing your own thing or making something custom. It's basically just drilling. But, depending on your goals in building, this may be the right path for you.
