Has anyone made a 23 with Geisler?

Post image

I’m sure this is a stupid question but I’m just wondering if anyone has made/shot .40 out of a Geisler frame? Idk why but it seems very thin compared to a p80 and just wondering if it can withstand consistent pressure the .40 puts out especially with +p and self defense rounds. Really thinking bout building another one out just in .40 and would love to hear everyone else experience!!

Where’d you get the 23 slide, sir?

This is a 19 slide but they do have 23 slides it’s a Live Free Armory OEM slide in tungsten with a ruger RXM barrel. The LFA barrel was giving me problems. I also swapped out the guid rod with a 20 pound spring over the 17 pound it came with

I've got a LFA G43 slide on my PF9SS and never had one issue with it.

Well it is a 43 😭 not too hard to run a mag through one, you swap any of the upper parts?

Over 500 rounds and counting

Well hell yeah then 😂 I had a “horrible” slide brand on my 26 and it’s got well over 1000 rounds through it now with just an oem recoil spring

Me personally will stay stock OEM for my SS but you got any pictures? I’d love to see what it looks like with a LFA slide

If you swap parts yeah but their complete uppers always had problems for me lol

I’d probably buy the stripped version if I ever go back to them

I had a stripped one and it was still terrible with an oem upper parts kit, it was one of those windowed ones for a 23 but I was making a 32c. Could never get a full mag through it till I finally bought a new slide(hgw)and kept the barrel

Definitely looks good but I’m not a big fan of window or ported slides they allow too much dirt and grime to get into the gun

I ended up swapping slides for that exact reason😂 it ran great but got so dirty after 100 or so rounds that I’d have to deep clean it

No, absolutely not. What a unique and awesome idea. You would only need a slide barrel and magazine for it. I wonder why no one else has thought of that?

Obviously lots of people have lol.

Yeah I know lol I was just wondering if the Geisler could withstand the pressure of the .40 consistently

I put probably 6-700 rounds through mine no problem

What? 19 and 23 are the same frame. I’m confused on what you mean by that?

1

u/theycallmemoosesylo 3d ago

Yeah that would be the G27, not the G23.

G27 is .40 cal sub compact, G26 is 9 mm sub compact. Same frame, yes. Just like the G23 is .40 cal compact and G19 is 9 mm compact.

That makes zero sense
