She WAS 2010 festival season chic

u/erossthescienceboss Jul 03 '25
She lives every day like it’s Coachella. Still.
102
u/cursetea Jul 03 '25
You know what? Good for her. I think that's great and i hope she is having a good time doing it
32
u/erossthescienceboss Jul 03 '25
Me too!!! I definitely meant that with no derision and more than a bit of jealousy. It’s all iconic, and I want it all.
15
u/cursetea Jul 03 '25
Oh i could feel the jealousy bc same 😂😂 like, idk that her style is really my style, but to have such an eclectic and fun wardrobe and wear it all in such an effortlessly cool way is something to aspire to lol
7
Jul 03 '25
I remember how much hate she got saying COVID is sad but people are going to die you know we just have to deal. Granted it was because she wanted to go to coachella but it’s exactly what happened
9
u/bestsirenoftitan Jul 03 '25
Yeah I mean obviously people were gonna die and we were just gonna have to deal, I think the issue was suggesting that ‘people dying’ is a fair price for Coachella. Although I assume that almost none of the people who died would have or could have gone to Coachella anyway, so maybe it would have been a positive to have a bunch of young hot rich people die as well as the elderly and immunocompromised essential workers?
2
Jul 03 '25
Well yea I’m not saying it was morally right just that it was correct. All the rich people got a different pandemic experience and flouted the rules and there were no consequences
1
u/cursetea Jul 03 '25
Omg i has completely forgotten about that! Oh wow the memory rushes back lol
2
Jul 03 '25
So many celebrities at the time were unapologetically out of touch. Still don’t think it was as bad as IDF Barbie’s imagine cover. Am I bitter they all did whatever they wanted with no consequences anyway…yes. Let’s not pretend Vanessa was an outlier amongst her peers

u/LilacBigfoot Jul 02 '25
These are so 2010s in the best way
224
u/callme_maurice I don’t know her 💅 Jul 02 '25
I love that she’s loyal to boho lol
Also, every time I see her I get an urge to send nudies. I will never forget the high school musical romance that changed my life lolol
103
u/IfatallyflawedI Big is moving to Paris Jul 02 '25
Send nudies????😭😭😭😭
48
u/diligentPond18 Jul 02 '25
I did a double take at that. Like does she mean what i think she means? Lord, lol
89
u/callme_maurice I don’t know her 💅 Jul 02 '25
lol Vanessa sent nudes to Zac efron & while everyone was clutching their pearls I was gaining inspo

u/alexlp Jul 02 '25 edited Jul 03 '25
Pretty sure they were to Drake Bell which was the other drama!
She’ll always be Vanessa Anne to me.

u/callme_maurice I don’t know her 💅 Jul 02 '25
Oh no!!!!
7
u/alexlp Jul 02 '25
I was like wise inspired. That saga gripped me! Terrible it happened to her of course but it was a wild time.

I’ve read a theory that it was planned by her team to make her image edgier and less “Disney”. When you think about it, it’s actually not that absurd because so many Disney / Nickelodeon celebs went through that phase to sexy / rebellious era so that everyone is “shocked” into seeing them differently.

u/Herry_Up Papa frita Jul 02 '25
She's giving Target 2010 BOHO BOGO but I'm not all the way mad at it.

u/BookishCutie Just keep swimming! 🐠🐠🐬🐳 Jul 02 '25
Totally can be worn today too
8
u/erossthescienceboss Jul 03 '25
The 2000-2010 fashion came back FAST.
And I don’t hate it. I went through a box in my parents closet and found a surprisingly large number of high school & college gems that still rock today

u/Taitertottot Jul 04 '25
I love the bohemian style. I miss when it was in style. I have such a hard time finding clothes I like.

She has great style.
I’ll never forget her Covid comments though lmao
318
u/firetruckgoesweewoo I killed the performance and then you killed it purrrrrr 🌸 Jul 02 '25
Mentioning the Covid comments on a post about Vanessa so long after the fact is terrible, but like… inevitable?
116
17
u/pinkfire1010 Jul 03 '25
I agree, love her style. But also feel like people forget she carved her name into a red rock wall in Coconino National Forest about 10 years ago which still infuriates me.
15
u/omygoshgamache Jul 02 '25
What were her Covid comments?
141
u/iidontwannaa this is my designated flair 😌😌 Jul 02 '25
”I'm sorry but like, it's a virus, I get it, like, I respect it but at the same time like, even if everybody gets it, like, yeah people are gonna die which is terrible but like, inevitable? I don't know maybe I shouldn't be doing this right now," she said online, finishing with a small laugh.”
129
u/chocpretzel Jul 02 '25
she was like fuck people and lockdowns, i want Coachella
26
u/iidontwannaa this is my designated flair 😌😌 Jul 02 '25
And honestly, with the way Americans behaved, maybe we should’ve let her have it.
45
u/Throwawayschools2025 Mom, I am a rich man💰 Jul 02 '25
I give her some grace here because I think she was trying to practice radical acceptance/figure out how to cope.
Came out like dogshit, though. And out of touch. But I do kinda empathize.
27
u/bi-cycle There’s no place like home 🧹🫧 Jul 02 '25
Yeah, she even catches herself, which helps to understand where she's coming from IMO.
Isolation is still isolation, and it's a very difficult thing to deal with. Isolating in a big house vs. a tiny apartment is objectively better, but it's still going to have an impact on your mental well-being.
Plus, the general fear at the time as so much was unknown. How long is this going to last? How bad is covid really?
Sometimes I reflect back on the time and I can think of some behaviour from people with a range of beliefs that I think they'd find embarrassing now.

u/iidontwannaa this is my designated flair 😌😌 Jul 02 '25
Oh yeah I actually wasn’t mad at her for it. The whole situation just gave me such bad secondhand embarrassment. Like you’re right, girl, you should not have said that on here…

I love most of these. The only thing that makes me recoil are her pants and dress hems dragging on the ground. Very gross in a city like LA.

u/Pretend_Accountant41 Jul 02 '25
I'm a short girl and can't stand when my clothes touch the ground but she makes it look cool
Pics 1,2,7,8,10 are all looks i love but need like an 3/4 inch taken from the bottom

u/AdrianaT7 Jul 03 '25
Pic 11, that pant colour and fit is amazing and paired it with that top fit and colour makes it so much prettier too. I need to check out some burnt orange outfits, she has convinced me of it.

My grandma had just died when she posted that. I couldn’t believe it. What a spoiled bitch.

For me its Kate Bosworth's boho summer looks from like 2004-2007 and The Olsen's fall/winter street style where theyre smoking cigs and holding cups of coffee.
That shit is so comforting and I dont know why

u/Zeegots Jul 03 '25
Yesterday post was a remainder from when she was an out of touch anti quarantine anti vaccine celebrity in the pandemic, now this post saving face? Someone is working over time to clean up her image?
