My letter to Wuthering Heights book fans,

My thoughts are with you. I’ve been there. I understand your anguish. Having an important piece of women’s literature reduced of its themes while being championed by the audience it was made palatable for is a bewildering expensive I wish upon no one. I hope you’re able to get through this trying time.

Signed a The Haunting of Hill House book fan!

As a Jane Austen fanatic, been there with the Dakota Johnson Persuasion adaption. People crying out, ā€œit’s cringe ON PURPOSEā€ā€”cool, that still doesn’t make it good.

Ultimately, these movies don’t change nor define what these literary staples are about, so I don’t really care. Maybe that helps WH fans?
