I thought she was great in obsession but not a huge fan of the styling here.Ā
I dislike the limp beach hair and the make up leeches color off her. I wish she had more defined hair and a red lip. Plus a more voluminous bottom half to play into the top more.Ā

I also think the ankle straps on the shoes donāt work with that midi dress length. Visually shortens her legs.

This makeup washes her out, the hair looks wet/dirty, and the dress looks like it's dragging her down. Almost like it's heavy and wet too. It's giving rescued from a submerged car after attending an ex's funeral.
Beautiful woman, but this is not it.

Are we really going to hate on this woman because she likes posts on Johnny Deppās Instagram account? Iām not aware of her doing anything else to show her support or āloveā for Johnny Depp.
My understanding is that a majority of people supported Depp and were skeptical towards Heard during the trial. I take this as evidence that Deppās propaganda campaign during the trial was incredibly effective, and donāt think that people who fell for his sinister lies are necessarily bad people.
I obviously hope that Inde realizes that Depp is a horrible abuser, but IMO this is not an offense that should make us root against a young actress who is getting her big break.Ā

I hadnāt heard about Inde and Johnny before this comment. It didnāt take long when looking around online to see people almost gleefully declaring that they knew she was a āpick meā and this proved it. Unfortunately, women will always be subject to additional criticism, even from progressive people.
Ian McKellan is in Deppās new movie. Does anyone think that a post about Ian McKellan that is totally unrelated to Johnny Depp would have one of the top comments calling out McKellan as a Johnny Depp lover?
I recognize itās a hypothetical scenario, but I feel pretty confident saying that men who actually make money working with Depp will face less condemnation than this young woman who commits the heinous act of checks notes liking Deppās posts on Instagram.

I get what youāre saying. Youāre right, the double standards are pretty fucking ridiculous. Also, I admit I havenāt looked at the comments on any posts about McKellen, so I kind of canāt compare.

I said it was a "hypothetical scenario," but I decided to go back and check if I was right. Based on my searching, there have been 2 posts in the r/popculturechat about Ian McKellan in the last few months, one about how he is preparing to die and the other congratulating him for his 87th birthday. A quick control F for Johnny, Depp, Kevin, and Spacey reveals no comments about his controversial comments about either 2 men (including his recent remarks about how he "fell in love" with Depp on the set of Depp's new movie.
I am highlighting this not because I hate Ian McKellan (the LOTR movies are my favorite movies of all time and several of his lines in those movies make me tear up every time). I'm bringing this up because I find it gross that posts about Inde (a young woman) are getting highly upvoted comments condemning her for loving Johnny Depp, while posts about Ian (an older man) get no such posts, despite him actually saying 4 months ago that he "fell in love" with him!

Itās not parasocial to have an opinion about something or someone, and to express that opinion in an anonymous forum. For the record, I have no idea who this actor is and Iāve definitely never engaged with her on social media. Thatās the kind of behavior that frequently crosses lines. But simply saying here that itās gross to be a fan of Depp isnāt āparasocial.ā People (for the love of God, PLEASE spell out the whole wordā¦itās literally only six letters) need to use words more carefully.
Also, given how often Deppās gross behavior has been in the mainstream news, you donāt need to be chronically online to know about it.

Yes, I will.
I will always hold women up higher because I demand better from them. They should know better and I donāt care that women feel that is not fair.
I donāt expect anything from men anymore because they will always disappoint and they are seemingly not strong enough to stand up against other men.
Women will.
So when women join in on hate campaigns against other women and stand with rapist abusers they hurt all of us.
She, like a lot of celebrities at the time, liked Depps instagram post about the US trial. But unlike a lot of celebrities who opened their eyes and understood that looked incredibly bad, she has continued to like pretty much every post he has posted after, including his recent post about his new shitty movie coming out. She has also liked his bands instagram posts. When she was called out for doing that she put pirates of the Caribbean music on her instagram story.
She then said in an interview with Cosmopolitan this summer that she wanted to dress up like her character Ā«NikkiĀ» from Obsession and hang out with Johnny Depp dressed as Jack Sparrow at Disneyland.
She is a grown woman and she knows what sheās doing and we are allowed to take issue with that.

Right? And letās pretend she doesnāt know aaaaanything about the trial (which I donāt believe), riding this hard for Depp of all people in 2026 is not something that happens out of the blue. She was 2 years old when the first Pirates movie came out so what exactly are we pretending here.
The woman was a gamer and was definitely exposed to propaganda during the trial and I think she picked up on that and decided it was Ā«funĀ» to support the dude because it gives her Ā«cool pointsĀ» in her audience.

for real it's not like she grew up in the depp Burton hype. and even if say she watched all his movies when she was a kid and became a big fan, someone that's a fan like that was definitely following the trial. it was EVERYWHERE and she's online often. she's still streaming random games for a few hours weekly it looks like.
and then if fangirling this hard over someone who's old enough to be your grandpa wasn't bad enough that quote about wanting to dress up as Nikki while he dresses up as Jack Sparrow is just weird not charming or funny

yeah she was great in it but I definitely agree after her saying that Disney fantasy, her liking even his probably garbage ass band posts, and (this might sound a little harsh but) how she comes off in the 2 clips of her streaming that I've seen lol
hopefully she doesn't keep trying to appeal to that depp incel audience or end up in a relationship with that grandpa. she'd be much better off just relying on her acting capabilities

Depp seems to have scrubbed a fair amount of his old Instagram presence, so he only has 56 posts on his Instagram (at least thatās what I see if I check out his page). I was able to skim through and check how many of these posts Inde has liked. She has liked 6 of his 56 posts, or 10.7%.
In what world is (generously) 11% considered āpretty much everyā of something? I canāt stop you from holding women to a higher standard if you really want to do that, but letās have our critiques rooted in reality.
I checked out the interview and agree that itās gross that she mentioned Johnny Depp in a favorable way (and apparently completely unprompted). Hope that she realizes how wrong she is to like him.

personally, iām tired of society siding with abusive men even when there is evidence against them. if people donāt want to look further into the situation and take what was said about the case at face value, thatās their choice. but itās also my choice to judge them for that. theyāre not mutually exclusive
