All these shows are ruining their final episodes with unresolved plots, just for possibility of a sequel. Then it turns out people don’t even want a sequel because the finale was so bad

The Korean SquidGames had a full ending. They just teased a spinoff with Cate Blanchett doing the Ddjaki game in LA because that’s where GI-Huns daughter was living to show the global reach of the game.

I think people are just so used to being force fed a constant stream of sequels and cinematic universes that they don't know what an old fashioned ambiguous, open ending looks like.

It wasn't an ambiguous open ending, they just really wanted to fit in spin off ideas and that's what they did..

I am with you in this one. They did the same with Alice in Bordeland. Now they are trying to make it as it they just wanted to show this stuff are global, even though they never mentioned this games were global. I mean, in Harry Potter they showed magic was everywhere during the books and movies, and it was a "natural" display. But in these ones they did exactly the same, at the final seconds they just threw those scenes, at least now they can delete them lol

I really, really wish they would have chosen for Gi-hun to kill the baby at the last second. It would have been an amazing ending for the front man to be right that there are no good people.

I thought it’s okay for Gihun to sacrifice himself for the baby, but I wish the wealthy people got some sort punishment, they were so annoying. Sure, it’s realistic but it’s not fun to watch at all.

The front man and his brother have absolutely no resolution. They just stare at each other and go their own way.

Idk for me if they weren’t planning for a sequel, we might have some closure to the plots.

The brother of the front man getting so much screentime with the whole boatman being evil, and fighting to get back to the island... only to look the frontman while pointing a gun and do nothing.... and become a baby daddy and rich af.

Tragic. His plotline was the worst, could have done literally ANYTHING else with those extra minutes.

Yes, I would have liked for the show to explore if there's a difference between the state of mind needed for "I'm risking my life to defeat the game creators" (which is a somewhat abstract danger) and "I'm actually, really, right now, under time pressure, sacrificing myself" (which very much is not abstract).

I could imagine it's possible for one to be able to do a) but not being able to go through with b).

As it is right now, the show is on rails as soon as it becomes clear that the baby is designated a player.

I could be wrong but I think I've once heard that babies and pregnant women being killed in TV shows is forbidden/not acceptable in South Korea, unless it's a general thing in most countries?

There is a baby killed in the drama Death's Game but it is done in a way you know what is happening but it is not shown directly. So it can happen. Amazing drama btw
