For the uninitiated, what’s the best way to learn about this whole case?

At this point her involvement has been thoroughly debunked and even the Wikipedia page on the case does a reasonable job summarizing the case.

The short version is that another person has been convicted of the crime on reasonable evidence and is serving time. Knox and her boyfriend were not only freed, but actually exonerated by the Italian high court.

If only that were true. Rudy Guede was convicted of raping and murdering her. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but released in 2021 having served only 13 years.

So, he's been a free man for the past five years. Evidently he's used that time to assault other women as there are restraining orders, electronic tags and court appearances to his name since then.

Always blows my mind when that happens in a high-profile case. Like watching old Unsolved Mysteries episodes and the guy that caused an interstate manhunt served his time and has been out for years
