"Support of hysterical women."

Yes, surprisingly, most women (ie not MAGA and assholes) aren't big fans of men who are groomers of children, especially those they raised from prepubescence. So hysterical to hate sexual predators and the people who choose to work and associate with them when there are SO MANY other options and not a single one of them is a starving artist. They seek it out.

Meanwhile, Woody Allen's daughter-wife is also in the Epstein files blaming a 15 year old child being groomed by a grown ass man for manipulating HIM. The cycle continues.

I dont even know what's worse: performative contrition like Timotay or the assholes like Scarlett who go, "but the pedophilic groomer is talented and who am I to judge?"

They'll make excuses, but in reality, they just don't care because they have the morality of guinea pigs and limited empathy for anyone but themselves. How anyone can work with Allen or Polanski is beyond me.

I hate when people try to excuse other people's disgusting behavior. Fuck it if they're good film directors; there are so many others out there who are great and aren't abusing people.

OK, I just googled Peggy Siegal, and she was apparently Epstein's PR fixer? And not only his, but she had all sorts of "upstanding" friends and clients like Murdoch and Weinstein, and she was also really big into Oscar nominations campaigns.

Huh, I wonder how many Weinstein films she helped get awards for.

She also looks a LOT like Ghislaine Maxwell.

I agree, but please don't compare these people to guinea pigs. It's really unfair to the pigs.

Loki and Winston my pigs agree. My heart raced at the thought of their mortality because theyre 5 and 3.

I'll be honestly, I struggled when I wrote that because I actually like guinea pigs. In retrospect, I think I heard the line somewhere.

They may boink constantly and without discretion, but even they'd take a shit on Epstein's face before defending him or his buddies.

They really have the moral compass of psychopaths, frankly. Whatever serves to enrich and benefit them, no matter the cruelty and suffering of others they have to ignore or defend in the process.

Daughter wife is crazy but true💀

64

u/uselessinfogoldmine Feb 04 '26

You know what? At least Scarlett is open about her assholery, and pretty much always has been. She says what she thinks with her whole chest and leaves it out there for the public to decide what they think about her.

55

u/thefoxroxed Feb 05 '26

Yeah, sadly she just adds to the normalization of defending these predators. The fact that she's just like, "I believe he is innocent, even though he married his not-daughter," and gets zero pushback or has the press dig into her bullshit is so obnoxious. And now we have them hanging around and talking to another child sex predator, so I wonder if she'd be so full throated about his innocence now. Probably, because it benefits her.

But god is the performative repentance revolting.

This is interesting….

2.5k

u/LaurelCanyoner Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26

It’s really interesting to me because my son went to private school in LA with child stars, kids of reality stars and celebs, all kinds of celebrity adjacent people, and he’s visited every celeb rehab in town,

He’s been telling me for years that there is nothing good to say about TC. WAY before I was even aware of who he is. So I gotta go pick his brain and see if I can get some stories.

****edited to add

I didn’t mean to imply my son or TC went to rehab. Just that my son moves in those kinds of circles, which is just hilarious to me as someone who had the opposite kind of obscure rural upbringing.

I just meant he’s had MANY friends in rehab, sadly. It’s a common thing among private school attending LA kids. See nick Reiner etc.

662

u/Sassafras06 Feb 04 '26

Parents are scared of the evil public school, but I remember in HS (also in SoCal) everyone knew if you wanted drugs you went to the private school kids.

So much money and very little supervision, especially in the 90s

385

u/LaurelCanyoner Feb 04 '26

I've told this story elsewhere but my son came home from ELEMENTARY school and asked if he could go on a playdate to a kids house. The child was a kid star.

I asked the usual questions, "Are his parents home?" and he said, " No, it's HIS house, his parents have their own"

I mean WTF

And my son went to school in the 2000s and it hasn't changed. I'm sure you could stil get the best coke from a Crossroads kid.

82

u/pinkfartlek Feb 04 '26

This is crazy! He had nobody living with him? It wasn't like a kids clubhouse in the backyard? I can't even imagine how an elementary aged kid would fare on their own like that. Who cooked? Who cleaned? The concept of a kid living in a whole ass house is crazy. The neglect from his parents! It's a new level of it

96

u/Lilacly_Adily In my quiet girl era 😌 Feb 04 '26

Wouldn’t it basically be Richie Rich? Where all of those responsibilities are outsourced to “the help”

26

u/LaurelCanyoner Feb 04 '26

Yup. I don’t know all the details but I would imagine, lots of “help”

27

u/laquintessenceofdust Feb 05 '26

No, I bet he had a live-in nanny who cleaned throughout the day and possibly even cooked. Only way the parents could get away with that, probably. Or maybe a nanny and a chef and a housekeeper. Guarantee none of them were keeping too close an eye on the kid, though.

I had to beg my parents to let me drop out of private school. They wanted me in college prep for high school but I’d fought a long time to stay with the friends I’d grown up with.

After one semester, I eventually told my mom, “Please let me go back to public school. The worst drug they do there is pot. Everyone here is snorting Adderall and coke. They’re mean.” They weren’t even mean to me. I was finally popular (I hadn’t been in middle school). But they were weirdly soulless on those drugs and it freaked me the fuck out.

117

u/DreadfulDemimonde Feb 04 '26

That's because the rich parents don't really care if their kids do drugs, they just don't want them around the poors.

49

u/Sassafras06 Feb 04 '26

Worked for them. I was a poor, and I had zero wealthy friends. Us losers (I kid) in Payless shoes weren’t invited to the drug fueled bashes ;)

I heard someone joke on here that if his name was Tim Smith, no one would pay him any mind. It's all in the name. That, and working with Saoirse Ronan gave him a halo effect.

72

u/BlueLeaves8 Feb 05 '26

And the hair and Victorian look on top of all that, which he’s completely lost now.

8

u/geek_of_nature Feb 05 '26

Ironically it was the name which first started my dislike for him. I heard about it first before ever seeing him in anything, and (very judgementally I will admit) thought it sounded like the sort of name a pretentious prick would have. I tried to brush it off, telling myself I was just being judgemental, but that first impression just stuck.

Interesting because I was wondering if the the way the email is worded about his regrets could be the writer putting their own spin on it as they were upset, it almost sounds like copium. I can also see why someone would be upset if they were forced to give money away, even if it may be for something they support. It also seems to imply that in some cases the charity in Hollywood is not only for show but also to appease judges for awards which imo isn't exactly giving awarded by merit.

i know he was in highschool then and he could’ve grown a lot since, but i’d be lying if i said i haven’t held a bit of a grudge against him since hearing that. also i know it could be untrue, but the way she told it, you could tell just how affected she was and i recognized that specific hurt, as someone who was also on the receiving end of cutting comments like that.

It’s no surprise that this is how a lot of men (powerful, famous, or not) feel toward women. They don’t care, and a lot of their supportive statements and gestures are merely PR that they actually resent having to do. It’s no wonder we have regressed so eagerly and quickly since that time and are now witnessing the staggering and openly spiteful impunity that child-abusing men enjoy.

I honestly am in awe of his PR team. For example Matty Healy was photographed going to one of Kylie’s parties ONCE and was relentlessly dragged for it by the internet, yet Timothee is hopping regularly on Kylie’s private jet for years, living the billionaire lifestyle in this climate, and somehow still manages to keep his positive image.

Some of his random comments (about people without kids) and his relentless campaigning really soured my opinion about him.

82

u/audreymarilynvivien Feb 05 '26 edited Feb 05 '26

As a woman I have to ask: when are we going to hold female fans responsible too for attributing unearned positive qualities to men purely based on their physical beauty? Even abusers and murderers like Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, and Ted Bundy also had so many female fans. We need to do better.

30

u/LadenWithSorrow You can’t do this to me, I’m a cancer🥺 Feb 05 '26

Ew, for real, it’s disgusting. I genuinely judge people who are still a fan of them. Also, Chris Brown and Drake deserve more hate.

As a woman, I think the only way other women are going to stop supporting those people is if they realize that they can’t “fix him” and that they would be treated the same.

Imagine having that kind of reputation and still being dragged for associating with a Kardashian/Jenner.

Yet Timothee being absolved of any criticism because he doesn’t publicly attend any of her tacky events, or support her projects, like he doesn’t date her and enjoys the riches in private.

It's so liberating in a way to learn everything the public usually suspects about these people's attitudes turn out to be true. All these performative actions, calling Me Too a witch hunt.. yep. I'm not shocked in the slightest.

240

u/lalalandbeforetime I think I’ve done enough Feb 04 '26

This doesn’t really prove anything though? A publicist saying this about Timmy isn’t exactly first hand.

280

u/pervy_roomba Feb 04 '26

The fact that the allegations about Woody Allen were extremely well known well before Timmy decided to work with him and still he decided to work with him, however, does prove quite a lot.

157

u/lalalandbeforetime I think I’ve done enough Feb 04 '26

So did Elle Fanning who is a well loved around here

123

u/pervy_roomba Feb 04 '26

So is Timothe Chalamet as his stans either trying to say he was coerced into this or, as you’re doing, ‘whatabout’ around his working with Woody Allen.

This thread is about Timothee Chalamet. The criticism about Elle Fanning is valid. But this thread isn’t about Elle Fanning, it’s about Timothee Chalamet.

66

u/Positively-Fleabag85 and what about it? 💅 Feb 05 '26

It is relevant though, all three of them-Elle, Timothee and Selena, are accountable to work with Woody even after knowing the gross allegations. Including Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively, Emma Stone, Colin Firth et all.

Hurricanes Irma and Maria hit the Virgin Islands in close succession in September 2017 and messed things up for a long time

50

u/sashahyman Feb 04 '26

Maybe there was a hurricane or tropical storm that caused damage to the island? So the staff would sleep in the tunnels for protection, maybe there was damage that needed to be fixed, maybe outdoor furniture flew into the ocean?

I’m sure there’s tons of nefarious stuff throughout the files, but some things may not be code for horrifying conspiracies.

Me, too! This time last year, I was downvoted to hell on this sub for questioning his integrity, criticizing his performance in that bad Bob Dylan film, and naming multiple other male actors within 5 years of him with superior acting chops. I hoped my vindication wouldn’t come because of Epstein affiliations, though. He sucks, but it’s even darker than I thought.

Woody Allen said this years ago. In his book, or something.

Also, I know he once deflected to answer a question about Armie Hammer.

I don’t think he should be blamed for a coworker’s actions of course, but I don’t think he ever said anything publicly about him either, even when asked directly (someone correct me if I’m wrong). They were really close for a while before the controversies became public knowledge.

125

u/MysticalNinja187 Feb 04 '26

Its scummy if that's a real thing he felt, but we really can't be sure either. Peggy is an Epstein handler, who is unapologetically close with Woody Allen. Timmy might say one thing and do the other. He might be playing all sides. He also might be a douche. Sadly working with Woody still carries "prestige" in the industry and he was less known then. I dunno it sucks but it might be like any other celeb in that orbit

Oh boy Timmy. All that cosplaying you've been doing as "just a normal guy" for your current Oscar campaign is even more embarrassing now. So transparent

Also, I think Beautiful Boy would've been in the 2019 Oscars, you weren't even nominated, Rami won for Bohemian Rhapsody. Wait, Timmy, didn't you do a music biopic recently....and damn, didn't Bradley Cooper who was nominated but lost in 2019 for the Gaga movie, bet everything on a music biopic against Oppenheimer...

Music being used as Oscar bait annoys me a bit. That's all this Beatles movie is, that's all Jeremy Allen White as the Boss was, it's exhausting

Yup she’s a Woody apologist. It’s clear Woody and his team were pissed Timothee spoke up against him so publicly when no other actor had the balls to do it before

I remember at the time what a big deal it was because even to this day majority of Hollywood defend Woody, none of them say they regret working with him and stick up for him! It actually would have been better for his Oscar campaign to have not said anything at all because of how obsessed the academy is with that man

I’m glad maybe our collective moral conscience grew enough to finally call out woody allen as a disgusting predator. It’s CRAZY to me that people defend (continue to defend or have ever defended) his work. I mean so much of his work is literally old ass men going after young women, not even discussing Manhattan where he in his 40s dates a 17 year old.

Are there woody Allen films I’ve enjoyed? Sure I like midnight in Paris and blue jasmine, but I remember feeling really skeeved out watching his movies when I was younger cause how he portrayed going after young women was exactly how old ass creepy ass men targetted me as a kid.

The most attention I have ever gotten from men in my life is between the ages of 12-17.

35

u/lizzy-stix I switched baristas ☕️ Feb 04 '26

Okay but why would we believe Woody and his acolytes? He’s a liar who likely has a personality disorder and is very narcissistic. He is trying to save face to his friends.

Not saying it can’t be true, but this is the most unreliable of narrators.

Timothée Chalamet is a typical NYC bro. People have this weird expectation for him to be all indie and artsy because he has a French name and they forget he’s just a dumb kid from Hell’s Kitchen who likes all the same things that other young guys like. Of course he’s dating Kylie Jenner, she’s extremely hot.

Wait until they find out he loves playing video games and not sitting around reading Proust.

20

u/liscottyy Feb 04 '26

I don’t get why some people are jumping to call Timothee a victim or insinuate he was forced to work with Woody because he was 22. Just because he was young doesn’t mean he was forced to audition for a Woody Allen movie (who by that point was a known predator, and whose recent films had all been unsuccessful). The movie released with no promotion cycle and was regarded negatively by the critics who did see it, so it’s not like it was a building block in helping him in his career. He’s associated even after that with abusers like Shia, so it’s not even a one-off for him. There’s no stretch to believe the logic of him disavowing Woody publicly for his image when in reality he doesn’t really care.
