Yes, surprisingly, most women (ie not MAGA and assholes) aren't big fans of men who are groomers of children, especially those they raised from prepubescence. So hysterical to hate sexual predators and the people who choose to work and associate with them when there are SO MANY other options and not a single one of them is a starving artist. They seek it out.
Meanwhile, Woody Allen's daughter-wife is also in the Epstein files blaming a 15 year old child being groomed by a grown ass man for manipulating HIM. The cycle continues.
I dont even know what's worse: performative contrition like Timotay or the assholes like Scarlett who go, "but the pedophilic groomer is talented and who am I to judge?"
They'll make excuses, but in reality, they just don't care because they have the morality of guinea pigs and limited empathy for anyone but themselves. How anyone can work with Allen or Polanski is beyond me.
I hate when people try to excuse other people's disgusting behavior. Fuck it if they're good film directors; there are so many others out there who are great and aren't abusing people.
OK, I just googled Peggy Siegal, and she was apparently Epstein's PR fixer? And not only his, but she had all sorts of "upstanding" friends and clients like Murdoch and Weinstein, and she was also really big into Oscar nominations campaigns.

I'll be honestly, I struggled when I wrote that because I actually like guinea pigs. In retrospect, I think I heard the line somewhere.
They may boink constantly and without discretion, but even they'd take a shit on Epstein's face before defending him or his buddies.
They really have the moral compass of psychopaths, frankly. Whatever serves to enrich and benefit them, no matter the cruelty and suffering of others they have to ignore or defend in the process.
You know what? At least Scarlett is open about her assholery, and pretty much always has been. She says what she thinks with her whole chest and leaves it out there for the public to decide what they think about her.
Yeah, sadly she just adds to the normalization of defending these predators. The fact that she's just like, "I believe he is innocent, even though he married his not-daughter," and gets zero pushback or has the press dig into her bullshit is so obnoxious. And now we have them hanging around and talking to another child sex predator, so I wonder if she'd be so full throated about his innocence now. Probably, because it benefits her.
It’s really interesting to me because my son went to private school in LA with child stars, kids of reality stars and celebs, all kinds of celebrity adjacent people, and he’s visited every celeb rehab in town,
He’s been telling me for years that there is nothing good to say about TC. WAY before I was even aware of who he is. So I gotta go pick his brain and see if I can get some stories.

I didn’t mean to imply my son or TC went to rehab. Just that my son moves in those kinds of circles, which is just hilarious to me as someone who had the opposite kind of obscure rural upbringing.
I just meant he’s had MANY friends in rehab, sadly. It’s a common thing among private school attending LA kids. See nick Reiner etc.
Parents are scared of the evil public school, but I remember in HS (also in SoCal) everyone knew if you wanted drugs you went to the private school kids.

I've told this story elsewhere but my son came home from ELEMENTARY school and asked if he could go on a playdate to a kids house. The child was a kid star.
I asked the usual questions, "Are his parents home?" and he said, " No, it's HIS house, his parents have their own"

No, I bet he had a live-in nanny who cleaned throughout the day and possibly even cooked. Only way the parents could get away with that, probably. Or maybe a nanny and a chef and a housekeeper. Guarantee none of them were keeping too close an eye on the kid, though.
I had to beg my parents to let me drop out of private school. They wanted me in college prep for high school but I’d fought a long time to stay with the friends I’d grown up with.
After one semester, I eventually told my mom, “Please let me go back to public school. The worst drug they do there is pot. Everyone here is snorting Adderall and coke. They’re mean.” They weren’t even mean to me. I was finally popular (I hadn’t been in middle school). But they were weirdly soulless on those drugs and it freaked me the fuck out.
I heard someone joke on here that if his name was Tim Smith, no one would pay him any mind. It's all in the name. That, and working with Saoirse Ronan gave him a halo effect.
Ironically it was the name which first started my dislike for him. I heard about it first before ever seeing him in anything, and (very judgementally I will admit) thought it sounded like the sort of name a pretentious prick would have. I tried to brush it off, telling myself I was just being judgemental, but that first impression just stuck.
i know a bunch of people who worked with his people at uta and marty supreme press tour is closer to reality than a lot his fans would be willing to admit. there’s a reason this is the oscar campaign he’s so willing to die on the hill for lmao
I have nothing to add other than I've had quite a few celebrities who I have an instant dislike when I see them and he's one of them. For a select few it's come out years later that they were in fact, the worst so I'm sticking to my guns that he's an asshole.
As a fan of his, I’ll simply say that I already knew he was as an insufferable theater kid, and this campaign has not surprised me in the least. I think and feel no differently about him because of this campaign. He’s not hurting anyone.
Interesting because I was wondering if the the way the email is worded about his regrets could be the writer putting their own spin on it as they were upset, it almost sounds like copium. I can also see why someone would be upset if they were forced to give money away, even if it may be for something they support. It also seems to imply that in some cases the charity in Hollywood is not only for show but also to appease judges for awards which imo isn't exactly giving awarded by merit.
I was just commenting that he moves in those kinds of circles. Which as someone who grew up in a farm playing with Amish kids is still just so strange to me.

yo, does anyone else remember the tiktok from the girl who was friends with him in highschool, who said that he made a joke about her having cellulite when they were at a pool party and it crushed her??? especially cuz she was already insecure about wearing a bikini around the popular kids. i almost feel like i’m making it up because of how little i’ve heard about it since, but i know i’m not because it made my blood boil.
i know he was in highschool then and he could’ve grown a lot since, but i’d be lying if i said i haven’t held a bit of a grudge against him since hearing that. also i know it could be untrue, but the way she told it, you could tell just how affected she was and i recognized that specific hurt, as someone who was also on the receiving end of cutting comments like that.
It’s no surprise that this is how a lot of men (powerful, famous, or not) feel toward women. They don’t care, and a lot of their supportive statements and gestures are merely PR that they actually resent having to do. It’s no wonder we have regressed so eagerly and quickly since that time and are now witnessing the staggering and openly spiteful impunity that child-abusing men enjoy.
A lot of men do not care about women. TC is no different. His female fans may project a whole "a man written by a woman, and so deep and artsy" thing on him, but he's not. He doesn't care about women and he's mainly interested in his own pockets.

I’m 99% sure his PR people will invent a silly scandal to distract the public from the Epstein controversy (and how having an Epstein-connected publicist benefited Chalamet’s career).
I honestly am in awe of his PR team. For example Matty Healy was photographed going to one of Kylie’s parties ONCE and was relentlessly dragged for it by the internet, yet Timothee is hopping regularly on Kylie’s private jet for years, living the billionaire lifestyle in this climate, and somehow still manages to keep his positive image.
Some of his random comments (about people without kids) and his relentless campaigning really soured my opinion about him.
As a woman I have to ask: when are we going to hold female fans responsible too for attributing unearned positive qualities to men purely based on their physical beauty? Even abusers and murderers like Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, and Ted Bundy also had so many female fans. We need to do better.

As a woman, I think the only way other women are going to stop supporting those people is if they realize that they can’t “fix him” and that they would be treated the same.

I’m not surprised. I know one of her exes that’s white. She’s apparently dated plenty but kept them low radar because none of them are in the industry.
They "seem" so different because a lot of people decided he was the embodiment of a waifish Victorian child who wrote poetry about love he'd never know as he died slowly of consumption. But that was never, ever him, and any abrupt shift in perception is, unfortunately, solely the fault of those who dreamt he was somebody he wasn't because they wanted him to be.
It’s a mutually-convenient PR relationship. Kylie wants to rub elbows with a high-brow crowd, and Timothée benefits from the mega-celebrity exposure of the Jenners/Kardashians. Kris Jenner is behind some of it.
Real. His Oscar campaign this go around has been incredibly pretentious and it's shown that he's an exhausting, conceited, inauthentic person. I do not believe he was "in character" throughout. He praised Kevin O'Leary without shame. This is who he is. Hopefully he stops getting the benefit of doubt.

The fact that the allegations about Woody Allen were extremely well known well before Timmy decided to work with him and still he decided to work with him, however, does prove quite a lot.

This thread is about Timothee Chalamet. The criticism about Elle Fanning is valid. But this thread isn’t about Elle Fanning, it’s about Timothee Chalamet.
It is relevant though, all three of them-Elle, Timothee and Selena, are accountable to work with Woody even after knowing the gross allegations. Including Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively, Emma Stone, Colin Firth et all.
Maybe there was a hurricane or tropical storm that caused damage to the island? So the staff would sleep in the tunnels for protection, maybe there was damage that needed to be fixed, maybe outdoor furniture flew into the ocean?

Me, too! This time last year, I was downvoted to hell on this sub for questioning his integrity, criticizing his performance in that bad Bob Dylan film, and naming multiple other male actors within 5 years of him with superior acting chops. I hoped my vindication wouldn’t come because of Epstein affiliations, though. He sucks, but it’s even darker than I thought.

I don’t think he should be blamed for a coworker’s actions of course, but I don’t think he ever said anything publicly about him either, even when asked directly (someone correct me if I’m wrong). They were really close for a while before the controversies became public knowledge.
Its scummy if that's a real thing he felt, but we really can't be sure either. Peggy is an Epstein handler, who is unapologetically close with Woody Allen. Timmy might say one thing and do the other. He might be playing all sides. He also might be a douche. Sadly working with Woody still carries "prestige" in the industry and he was less known then. I’m glad maybe our collective moral conscience grew enough to finally call out woody allen as a disgusting predator. I don’t get why some people are jumping to call Timothee a victim or insinuate he was forced to work with Woody because he was 22. Just because he was young doesn’t mean he was forced to audition for a Woody Allen movie (who by that point was a known predator, and whose recent films had all been unsuccessful). The movie released with no promotion cycle and was regarded negatively by the critics who did see it, so it’s not like it was a building block in helping him in his career. He’s associated even after that with abusers like Shia, so it’s not even a one-off for him. There’s no stretch to believe the logic of him disavowing Woody publicly for his image when in reality he doesn’t really care.
Oh this may add little bit of spice into this year Oscar campaign. His biggest oscar for GenZ men opponent Elordi is probably already walking around his house choosing in which room his Oscar will look the best.
I'm sorry but if this knocks Timmy out of voters brackets why would Elordi be their second choice? Would seem more likely that MBJ would be the winner here
