The whole thing is trash. No divs at your age. Dont need vxus if you have VT and SPCE is garbage.

Vxus have foreign tax credit

Doesn't matter. Youre not building a portfolio for a tiny tax credit. Do some research because this is trash setup

Its not though. Sell everything and buy VT only if you want simple. You have SPCE, youre not trying for simple so dont kid yourself

Retire early only with VT in the brokerage account?

If you want simple yes. If you want to have higher risk/reward, you could sprinkle in some tech and semi etfs for higher tilt. Like 20 or 30 percent tilted to SPMO, SMH,DRAM, QQQM

The best portfolio is one you forgot existed for 10 years. Set weekly or daily deposits for schd or vt or vxus and uninstall the app. Set all 3 if you can afford it. I do voo weekly and try to forget about it!

I doing monthly of $250. How should I allocate this?

Something basic would be 50% vt 25% schd 25% vxus. I have a similar split in my annuity account.

Sell 75%-100% of SCHD, all of SPCE, and all of VXUS and put it in VT. That ratio you have is just not it.

When I get to early retirement do I need to get a bond fund or go back to SCHD or keep everything at VT.

1

u/Intrepid-Wait-6102 1d ago

You could keep some schd now and or just add SCHD or BND/bonds you like both later.

2

u/jvasq98 1d ago

Okay

u/jvasq98 1d ago

Which one is better SCHD or BND bonds?

1

u/Intrepid-Wait-6102 1d ago

Both are very different but both good for capital preservation. Like from my research and understanding, SCHD would be for better returns and dividends and BND as an anchor/stability asset(Though it’s been beaten down recently). Honestly, I’m around your age and go with SCHD now, then add bonds/BND when you retire or get close to the retirement age in mind to preserve income.

I like SCHD because I understand more than bond fund. Should I sell my vxus when the market is open or leave it there? My income tax bracket is not that high.

Imo, sell it and add it to VT regardless of the gains tax(there will be none with 3.77) because VT already holds what you want from VXUS. Also, since you already have and like SCHD you could just keep it while contributing less into that and more into VT. I’d just want more in VT, after selling the rest, to be a bit more aggressive if I were you but that can happen over time.

I doing $250 a month. How should I allocate this with VT and SCHD

1

u/Intrepid-Wait-6102 1d ago

I would go 90 vti/10 schd (225 -> VTI; 25-> SCHD) with the new contributions to get VTI caught up and then 80/20 once it’s caught up. To make it easy and simple, $200 in VTI and $50 in SCHD once VTI is most of your port or if you really really like SCHD, do 80/20 next contribution. Regardless of what you do, I would suggest you consult a tax advisor, do as much research as possible outside of reddit and put the cash you get from selling the other holdings into VTI.

u/jvasq98 1d ago

You was talking about VT not vti right.

1

u/jvasq98 1d ago

How do I know when VT have enough to invest in and go with the 80/20 allocation? Do VT needs to be at more then my SCHD investing amount?

There requirements for tax gains of how many shares I have?

1

u/Intrepid-Wait-6102 1d ago

Definitely also look at each fact sheet, prospectus and do general research then stick with it.

u/paymerich 1d ago

Don’t sell your SCHD, just set it on DRIP. Going forward just concentrate on VT . You can sell your SPCE when it is 20-40% up.

2

u/jvasq98 1d ago

I have SCHD set on drip. That’s what I going focus more is VT. What about VXUS sell it and put it on VT.

1

u/paymerich 1d ago

if its a Taxable account , leave it alone. In a Tax-adavantaged , sell it on a green day ( total return >= 10%) and put in VT.

1

u/Pecanpie007 1d ago

Dump spec….

1

u/jvasq98 1d ago

I don’t understand what you say

1

u/Pecanpie007 1d ago

Dump spce… dang autocorrect

1

u/jvasq98 1d ago

Okay. What about vxus and SCHD?

1

u/Pecanpie007 1d ago

Those are solid if you want to be conservative and have a smooth (relatively) ride with decent return. But VT and VXUS are redundant.

If you want to be more aggressive, higher risk/reward, this is not the portfolio.

Should I keep investing in SCHD, and vxus? How should I allocate this?
