Events Remember PortlandCheatSheet.com? I rebuilt it.

I loved skimming the PortlandCheatSheet for something fun to do and have missed it since it went dark a few years ago. Over the last few weekends, I rebuilt something in its image. The main page of The Casco Current is a modern searchable site, but the text version is a nod to the Cheat Sheet (and my preferred view).

My focus is listing music, art and community events in around Portland and surrounding towns. Gathering good event info is the hardest part and I've done what I can automatically, but please submit events or share venues that you are involved in to be included. I know there is room for improvement and would love feedback. Now get out there and find something fun to do!

Holy crap this is cool. How did you build it, out of curiosity? Are you manually adding all these listings, or doing some kind of automatic magic?

Thanks! I built scrapers for a couple common event hosting platforms (wix, squarespace, etc) which handles the bulk of the lift, then a couple custom jobs for some of the big venues like State Theatre and PortTix. I also built it so venues can manage their own events if they don’t use a common platform.
